Should we attempt Fantasmic?

Hey all! I am going to Disney for my birthday this year, exciting! Usually this isn't an option with our work schedules but the stars aligned this year.

On my actual birthday, 10/15, we're planning to do MK - it's a party night, so hopefully slightly lighter crowds. We are doing dinner at Narcoossee's at 5PM. We are very frequent WDW visitors, but I haven't seen Fantasmic in years at this point, and my husband has never seen it. Since MK will be closed by the time we're done with dinner, it seemed like Fantasmic may be the way to see a nighttime show to end a wonderful birthday and trip!

It's been so long since I've seen it, though, I'm not sure if it's going to be worthwhile to try and make it over there. The calendar shows an 8PM and 930PM show that night with the park closing at 9PM. I'm right in thinking we'll be fine for the 930PM show, right? Since we won't have a dining package I'm just not sure how early you need to line up for that show. I would think, even if Narcoossee's is slow, we should be able to get to HS by 8PM and I'd hope we don't need to be more than 90 minutes early!

For the second show you will not need to be 90 minutes early. I’m sure 60 mins will be plenty and probably less.

unless something unforeseen happens, you should have lots of time to go to your 5:00 Narcosees reservation then attend the 9:30 Fantasmic!

Thanks for the feedback! I figured we would have plenty of time but I wasn't quite sure how quickly the line forms or if the second show was more or less popular.

I LOVED the new Fantasmic! I saw it last night of my trip. So disappointed I could not squeeze in another show! I had grown tired if the old and had skipped it last few visits. They open up the reserved at some point ..good to be there early to grab a seat there.

Fantastic is my favorite! I didn’t know they changed it. I can’t wait to see it on spring break!

Can you arrive sort of late and sit in the back? I don't love being in the middle of a crowd, especially after the show.

Getting into the show didn't seem crowded since people filter in over a long time. Leaving, it's like 12 million people at once.
