Should TSM still be the first ride we try to get on at Dca?

I just noticed on the website that the baby can get on and enter alot of things. So just to be clear if the website says any height that means the baby can get on right? Like the roger rabbit spin

That's correct. Just like at WDW most attraction are for any age. Just beware that RR can spin, like the teacups. Also of course some rides are dark, loud or have other effects that can scare people.

So after soaring I should make my way towards what area? Tower of terror or paradise pier?

So the plan now is to get to soaring 1st and fastpass and ride it.

This is how I have planned it so far again any advice much appreciated you guys are the experts.

leave Fontana like about 7:45
Get to Anaheim at 9:00am
everyone at turnstile at 9:30am

*9:30am they let us in and everyone gets on soaring but me I will Fp it for later.then they will get off and I will baby swap with someone.

*10:15 Fp GRizzley river run
family will head to Zepher, jumping jelly fish , and silly swing

*11am get to Paradise pier FP california screaming while family rides micky wheel, then we get in line for Toy story after wards I figured it will be lunch time and we will eat and I will send a runner to TOT to FP.

well thats what i got so far lol sry not good at this last time for wdw we used Tour guide Mike

Are you going to be there before the end of June or late spring when Little Mermaid opens? This will probably cause a big difference in park traffic patterns.

IMO Lines for Soarin and Screemin are the longest. TSM and TOT are shorter. GRR is either shorter than TSM and ToT if it's a cool day or long like Soarin and Screemin if it hot out. GSS will probably fall between the two groups. It will also be opening late May.

So I would stick to getting FPs for the Paradise Pier half of the park and ToT later. Also keep in mind that the excellent Alladin stage show takes up a large chunk of time.

If you have a FP runner you will do great. Keep in mind that if the return window on the FP you are holding has not opened that you can still get another 2 hours after getting the first. Also that you can use them anytime after the window opens until the attraction closes, you aren't limited by the close of the window.

Drive from Fontana may take longer because of rush hour, so don't be afraid to leave earlier and even have breakfast on a suface street near the parks.

AS far as TGM in WDW, you might try Ridemax for DLR. But it is going to really depend on if you are going before or after Little Mermaid and Goofy Sky School open because there are going to rewrite the script in DCA.

The only issue is soarin' can take a while, even with child swap. If you're not on one of the first "flights", you will end up waiting a good 15 minutes for the first round to go. And with the child swap on that, you end up going back in through the FP line, so there is not a huge advantage as the FP line can get quite long.

I plan on going June 2nd which is on a Thursday , I can skip the child swap since I will have Fp for later in the day

I appreciate the input how does the baby swap work with rides ? Also how do I get in a 930? If they open at 10 or did I miss read something if it helps we plan on doing Dca on June 2nd and June 3rd Disneyland . June 2nd is grand nite at Disneyland

I read through all of the responses and didn't see anyone address the dates you are going. Just be aware that June 3rd is going to be the grand opening of two big attractions - Little Mermaid at DCA and Star Tours 2.0 at Disneyland. This will definitely increase crowds and will affect your touring plan. It might be to your benefit if everyone is flocking to the new attractions instead of riding the other rides, but it might also really increase traffic in other areas of the park - no one can say for sure.

Well On the 6/2 I don't plan on getting a big crowd because of that ride opening the next day. Disneyland I know I'm going to get some resistance but not much I can do but take it head on. So do you think im going to see an issue at california adventures on the second?

Hard to say to be honest. There are talks of them having soft openings prior to the official grand opening, but it's all speculation at this point so who knows. Another thing to keep in mind is that since 6/2 is a grad night in DL, once DL closes down, a lot of guests that would normally hang around at DL that night will probably move to DCA instead so it might get a bit more crowded in the evening, but again, these are all just my own speculations.

So would you guys suggest moving in to the following week ? I would rather not since we have plans but if were not going to enjoy our selves might as well change

Hydroguy, what are your thoughts lol? I don't feel comfortable telling you to completely change your vacation dates, I'm just letting you know some of the variables you might encounter. I haven't ever been to the parks on a grad night, nor have I been there on a day where a ride was opening (other than the Captain EO re-opening, which happened by chance and wasn't really that big of a deal).

The week of June 6 will be busier than the week of May 30, but also more likely to have longer park hours and more entertainment. I believe there are two grad nights the week of June 6. Should you change? If you do not care about new rides for Star Tours or Little Mermaid, or about entertainment options, then do not change. If you do care, then you should change. My two cents. :)

Appreciate and yes really don't care for the little mermaid or star tours. We do want to see 1 daytime parade and ll the night time attractions like WOC and Fantasmic

During the week of May 30 WOC will show nightly - almost certainly - and Fantasmic will probably be only on weekends and Monday the holiday - typical off-season schedule.

Just to feed your thought on planning you can use Rider Swap and Fast Pass at the same time to really save some time.

For example say there are two adults and one child. #1 adult gets FP for ToT at the same time as #2 adult gets FP for Screemin. Both windows open at the same time. #1 uses ToT FP gets Rider Swap for #2 to ride ToT. Then go right over to Screemin #2 uses FP and gets rider swap for #1. By using FP and Rider swap together you can get twice as many FPs.

There just is no winning is there?
You mean getting low crowds but full entertainment and all rides running? Maybe on a rainy day. Otherwise no.

"HydroGuy's High Season/Off Season Tradeoff Rule" www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1199852
Rule

If you want to be able to experience all of the rides and see all of the shows, visit DLR during high season and learn how to work with crowds. If you want to visit when it is least crowded, expect to miss some rides and shows.

Who This Rule Affects

Everyone

There just is no winning is there?

Depends on your definition of winning. If you define winning as having a trip where everything goes according to plan the way you want, then..no..there's never a DLR trip like that. It's all about how you take advantage of some things and use your knowledge beforehand to create a fun trip.

I can have a pretty awesome trip on a crowded day if I plan accordingly and go in with a plan. I can also have a great day if it's not crowded and I know that some of the entertainment and rides will be down.

Personally, I prefer the first option. Crowds are more easily adaptable, although SUPER heavy crowds like those of that week are a little harder to work with but CERTAINLY not unmanageable.

Realistic expectations and different perspectives. :wizard:

So talking to the wife tonight were thinking about ditching seaworld and splitting disneyland into 2 days .
