Autotopia at DL is much much better.
1) it's like DL uses Cali emissions compliant Kawasaki or Honda engines that are both smoother and less smelly vs the old school Briggs that WDW seems to use.
2) Autotopia is a pleasant drive through a varied countryside. The 4 lanes split into a more intimate 2, and you drive around real landscaping get a little "dirt road" section for variety.
The real life Indy 500 holds a special place In my heart (I used to go to qualifying with my dad back when it was the race of the year) but the WDW tomorrowland speedway does nothing for me.
I think the old car thing is like Tom Sawyer Island. Neither are great places for an adult, but if you look at it through the eyes of a young boy...you start to understand Walt's magic.
