Should this chicken do ToT?

Karen,
You should definately try TOT! My mother (62) did it w/my 2 kids (12 & 10) and I said theres no way that I'm going to be the only one not doing this. I loved it!! I'm definately not a "drop" ride kind of girl. I thought that the elevator drops 13 stories straight down, BUT IT DOES'NT! It drops maybe 4 or 5 floors and just when your about to get that gueezy feeling in the pit of your stomach, the elevator goes up again. This is what saved me!! I hate that feeling in my stomach. I hate splash mountain. So if you can do splash mountain, then you can definately do TOT! (you should really do RNR coaster too!:D

I think you should try it. My dd's went on it this year and they are only 3 and 5 and they liked it. They were laughing all the time. My dh would never do it before, went on it with us (can't have a 3 and 5 year old beat him) and he even liked it. I say do it first thing in the day and if you don't like it you never have to do it again

Finally, on our 12th trip, we did ToT. We did it twice. My family wanted to do it more than once each day, but I only could do it once a day. I don't like heights, but this isn't the same feeling. It's that dropping feeling that you get just as you start down the big drop at Splash. Only they do it a few times. I screamed the whole time. When we got our photo, my hair was flying and my mouth was wide open in mid-scream. I'd do it again, though.

Man do I hear where you are coming from. I don't do elevators at all, and close eyes on them, but I did do TOT a few weeks ago when there. I came to conclusion that I would do everything and I did. I rode it with eyes SHUT!!!!, did not see out when doors opened. The ride is smooth and dark, we were in front seat. RNR is just a fast roller coaster, no BIG hills at all, just goes upside down and I did ride with eyes open on that, it is a cool ride. Will I ride TOT again--NOPE, NOPE, NOPE, I dont like the way my stomach feels from drops, but I survived and at least rode it. I also rode Kracken at sea world when there too, with eyes SHUT!!, Diffently won't do that one again either. BUt I rode it and I'm here to write about it, so go for it and ride with eyes shut or scream really loud--I'm not a screamer. Have fun!!

Do it! It is the best ride ever because of the special effects and the actual ride. Also, it is dark so you can't really see that you are falling, only feel it. My daughter had ridden other rides that drop you and hated them because they were outside, but TofT is her favorite ride! Also, she is terrified of roller coasters with big hills, but after her brother convinced her to ride Rock & Roll Coaster, she wanted to ride it again and again. She loves it.

I say go for it! I am the world's biggest chicken, am deathly afraid of heights and do not like roller coasters. I resisted getting on ToT, RnRC and all the mountains the first two times at WDW. The last time we went, I told myselft that by golly, I was going to try them all.

I LOVE ToT!!! It is so much fun (at least for me)! It is different than looking over the edge (oh, shudder at the Empire State Building thing!). I want to go again and again!

I loved Space and Big Thunder too. I liked Splash a lot, and I'm even considering opening my eyes on the drop next time. LOL!

I'd try it -- you might really end up loving it!

I have a fear of falling from high places. I fly in a plane and have even flown a small plane but get me on a building with little or no support to hang on to and I am really afraid. The first two times I went on space mountain I closed my eyes. I didn't see the inside until I did it for the thrid time when I opened my eyes for the first time. I liked the ride but when I went on SM in Disneyland I was hooked. I have since rode SM at WDW but it is no where near as good as the one in DL so I don't ride it not because I am afraid but I like DL better. I did the same thing in ToT I got to the boiler room and decided to leave and not ride. When I came back for the second time I decided to do the ride just to say I did it. It was great! When they drop you the first time they turn on the light but this they don't do any more they drop you in the dark. You think it would be really choppy but the transition is really smooth. I really enjoyed it. I go at least two times back to back when I am there. The ride is almost dark so you don't get to see alot so you should be able to ride this with no problem. Hope this helps, one chicken to another. LOL
