Should siblings be legally allowed to marry?

I have no scientific proof to back this up, but I think there is something inate in us which makes us not be able to fall romantically in love with a sibling. We're just made that way, our brain psychology normally doesn't work that way. I'm not talking about siblings who didn't know they were siblings; in those cases they don't feel/see each other as brother and sister. But the ones who were raised together, well I don't think I've ever heard of a case where they fell into romantic love and wanted to get married/have kids together. Incest happens all the time in this world, where brothers/sisters/fathers impregnate each other, but that's not from love, it's from pure sex and lust.

I don't think it's innate...I think we don't think of our siblings that way because it's so far from the cultural norm.

By the way, I agree with ewwwww....and I'm glad I don't have any sisters or brothers that this thread could give me nightmares about (half-sisters and half-brothers, but I don't see them often enough to have nightmares about them.)

Actually, my brother gets the "Brad Pitt" comparison all the time. I know he is a good looking guy but there is no, no , NOOOOOOOOOOOO attraction at all. I think we are born not attracted to our siblings...I really do.

The only conceivable way I can see this happening is with a brother and sister that grew up separately and didn't know they were related when they first met. I don't think there will ever be a surge of brothers and sisters that were raised together wanting to get married.

The plans are coming along fine but there's still plenty to do. Only 110 days or so to go. I think when we start doing the double digit dance we'll be a bit more nervous!

She's still not smoking and doing quite well, thank you for asking.

Wow, good for her!!!! As someone who has BTDT I know it's a tough thing to do, I'm so glad to hear she is doing so well with it!

Glad to hear the wedding planning is coming along nicely...you're gonna blink and it will be here. Really happy for you both.
