Should I wait or should I buy?

Hi all:

I have a dilemma. We are traveling to Orlando Oct 6-14th. We will be staying with my parents Oct 6-9th and then moving over to RPR. My problem is that when i look at flights from Denver to Orlando they are upwards of $400. October isn't typically high season for Florida so i wondered if i should wait and buy the plane tickets or secure it now before they go up. I am not very lucky with bargains, how far do you all purchase plane tickets?

Also, I was going to do the 4 day park to park but since the AP is about the same I am thinking of doing that. We may not return but in the off chance we can find a deal to visit grandma again we hit up the parks perhaps spring of 2017. Is there any reason (aside from blackout dates) that I shouldn't purchase the AP? Also, I haven't purchased them yet, I am not sure what I am waiting for honestly just trying to fit all the moving parts. Lastly, my hubby and I are planning to do HHN for the first time. Is it worth buy the premiere AP or just buying the HHN ticket separately and getting the Power Pass?

Thanks in advance for your help!

I don't know about the flights.

Get the Preferred APs. I liked using the discount at food places and I liked free parking at the Citywalk parking garage (which will be great for you if you are doing the parks while at your parents too). And yes, it will make it more likely for you to come back and see your parents again in the next year as well as the parks. They will like that.

I'd buy the AP's well before your trip just in case rates go up between now and then. We have four power passes for our family and one preferred AP. We've never done HHN so I don't know how that factors in. For our family, it worked well for one person to have preferred for the free parking and the 10% off. We did 6 days in the park during our last trip so that 10% added up quickly as we could use it for all five of us with only one preferred pass. Also keep in mind that you can upgrade easily in the parks from one ticket/pass level to a higher one.

As for the free parking, are you doing the parks with your parents? If not, then you won't need the free parking at RPR presuming you use RPR transportation. (Which is awesome).

I would wait on the flights. I find that the best prices are typically around 60 to 90 days before.

Buying now or waiting is a bit of a tough question. I've only had the Power Pass. But, I've also never gone during HHN. If you want to go multiple time to HHN a power pass + a HHN pass might be better. If you only want to go to HHN once getting a premier pass might be better if you can switch from a deluxe resort to Cabana Bay or Sapphire Falls and make good use of the after 4:00 Express Pass on the premier pass. But, it would require more planning of your day. Doing popular rides in the morning and after 4:00 when you can use your Express Pass.

Thanks everyone, good information to consider. I will travel with a 3 year old and 7 year old but the 3 year old still naps so I will likely need to go to the parks early, come back for naptime and go back to the parks only if they are open a little bit later. Not sure I will need parking just yet because my parents may just drop me off and then we will stay at the resort so will still consider that. HHN is likely going to just happen for 1 night to get the experience in. I like the idea of getting the cheap AP and then i can upgrade at the parks if needed. As for the flights, i think i may wait a little bit longer. The only other factor will HHN which I may just purchase separately versus premier AP. Lots of moving parts.
