Basically the name says it all lol. Just wondering people's experiences? Any faster or easier with data?
Also will the wifi work if I'm on a Disney bus on the way to the park?

On my January 2022 trip, Genie+ worked much better for me using data than WiFi. If it matters, I have a Samsung Galaxy 9 and use Verizon. The few times I forgot to turn off WiFi when searching for a Genie+ selection, the app ran much slower and had glitches - that's what would tip me off that I'd forgotten to switch to data.
I would use data over wifi. On my last trip in Feb I forgot to turn my wifi off when trying to buy a LL for Remy and by the time it loaded it was sold out for the day. If it matters I had a Samsung Galaxy S8 at the time. I used the same phone to get virtual queues for Rise in the morning using data (this was back in September before Genie) and had no issues with slowness or glitches, so I don't think the type of phone matters but rather your latency/internet speed.
Thanks guys, just wondering. Do you have any idea how much data you used on your days at Disney? I'm able to use my home country data, but we don't have awesome phone deals like the US has

I have an unlimited data plan with Verizon so truthfully I have no idea. I was using my phone a lot throughout my trip to keep track of wait times, picking new Genie+ selections, using mobile order and viewing menus at table services (they give you a QR code to scan but I'm confident that you could potentially ask for a paper menu if you wanted one).
Are you from Canada or the UK by any chance? You can ask the people over at the respective boards for more information concerning data plans or buying a US SIM card.
This is an issue with Cdn guests. No reasonable work around. My Cdn cell phone company wants $80 for a 2 week travel pack with extremely limited data included. Many of us are just going to try the WiFi again and hope for the best. Think there are several data v wifi challenge vlogs available born of the RoR virtual line mess. Some suggest best places to try wifi in HS. Good luck!

I had 3 park days in January - there is an alert on my phone that goes off when I've used 2G of data in a month and that alert did not go off in January. So I used less than 2G, but unfortunately I can't get more specific than that.
If you are trying for a popular ride, i would go off data. Especially for an Ill$ ride. However, last week, I couldn't get RoTR, FoP or Remy at 7. Yet at 7:30, each of those rides suddenly were available at the times we wanted. we were able to get all 3 at the times we wanted while riding on the bus.

Try Google Fi next time. It is month to month and really reasonable pricing. Just need to pop the sim card into your phone. You could probably have it shipped to your resort and it would be waiting for you there.
