Should I try selling mom on the dining plan?

I called AAA today and they quoted me $37 less than the WDW site for two nights/days staying at pop culture MYW tickets w/ dining, no park hopper or extras.

My mom called CRO and got two nights at Pop culture for $132. This works out about the same, but the total package sounds a lot more expensive.

Anyway, she is paying. Should I try to sell her on the dining or just go OOP? I am so broke that either way, she is paying for my meals. DH is actually making me leave my credit cards here.

Maybe I should have posted this in dining.

BTW, I am 30 years old. My mom is taking me and my 2 yo DD next month. We are going to Florida for other reasons, but have decided to spend two days at Disney also. My mom can afford to take us, but I still fel guilty. She really wants to do a character meal with my daughter, so I thought the dining plan might be a good idea.

Thanks!

I wouldn't feel guilty. She's your DD's grandmother, and the experience of taking your GD to WDW is well worth the marginal extra amount it would cost to bring your own daughter and her husband along. :rotfl: While I've never paid all the expenses for any of my family members, I have covered hotel and sometimes even dining expenses for some of them, just because I can (and they cannot). No guilt necessary.

Your decision to get the Dining Plan should be based, therefore, on how well it will fit your needs. Are you planning on having 1TS meal each night? If so, then you probably would be better off with the Dining Plan.

DH isn't going. He hates Florida. It's a girls trip. My mom did offer to take him also, but he said no thanks. I think we will have more fun without him. He just isn't a Disney kind of guy.

I talked to my mom, she went on the dining plan with a group last time and wasn't happy with it. She paid most meals out of pocket, because of where she wanted to eat when she wanted to eat. She told me not to worry about money amd if we spend more than the $80 a day on food such is life. She prefers the freedom of not eating on the plan.

I have to just go with the flow, especially with a 2 yo.
