Should I Try? Any Chance?

Our last day in Orlando is September 21 and I can't get a buffet breakfast anywhere because of free dining. I did get a reservation at Kona's at 11:00 and was wondering if we went to O'Hana's about 10:30 to see if they would be taking any walk-ups. How far if Kona's from O'Hana's. I'm just thinking . . . .

It is definitely worth a shot. People cancel things at the last minute all the time. I would keep calling daily, right up until the day you leave. You never know. Good Luck! :thumbsup2

Heck, it's worth a try! Kona's is right by 'Ohana's so it would not be out of your way.

you might want to try the breakfast buffet at the swan/dolphin (i can never remember which is which, sorry!) or one of the restaurants at the boardwalk (spoodles maybe has the b'fast buffet?) or one of the less popular b'fast character meals, cape may at the beach club...

also, in addition to attempting to be a walk-up, call the day or two before from your resort room!

Kona and Ohana are right next to each other. Not sure about walk-ups, but keep calling because people do cancel all the time.

We ate at Ohana's a couple of weeks ago and had an ADR, not during free dining. It took 15 minutes in line just to check in and then another 20-25 to be called for a table. It was the longest we waited at any table service restaurant all week. Definitely a popular place!

The food at Kona is delicious. Also, you mentioned buffets - Just a note that Ohana is not a breakfast buffet either, though there are characters there. Good luck.

We were there 15 minutes prior to our ADr, waited 15 minutes to check in, once we checked in they didn't even have anough buzzers, waited 10 minutes for a buzzer,a nd 25 minutes after that for our table. Actually had to go to the coffee stand and get coffee (for the adults) and pastry (for the kiddos). Food was great, but the wait was a long one!

Kona is like 7 steps from Ohana. No kidding.... you could hop on one foot over to it, it's that close.

Okay - handy dandy tips on *maybe* getting an ADR there.

Call the day you check in. By then, maybe there have been cancellations. Then... if that does not work, go down to Guest Services, and ask them to check and see ANY openings for your whole trip.

I overslept a CP ADR last year - and it was our only character one. I was able to go to Guest Services (during free dining) and get into Cape May (when EVERYTHING according to the 800-dining # was booked) and have a character b-fast.

Good luck. My biggest advice? Visualize yourself eating there. Dont under estimate the power of positive thinking. :)

it worth a try kona is right next door to ohana, depenind which stairs you walk up ohana will be the first you see, then either just right or left of you is kona.

also you said you were looking for a breakfast buffet, ohana is one but kona isnt.
