I have ressies at ASSP for 12/12-12/22, I am concerned about the cheerleader's and the noise level. The reason I booked this room was for the AP rate I received, now I am having second thoughts. I am thinking of switching to either POR or POFQ, my only concern there is the bus service, I know they share buses. I can't imagine having to stand on a bus for a long drive with a toddler. Advice please. Should I stay where I am or move?

We have stayed at POFQ and POR many times, and have not found the buses any busier than the All-Stars buses. The All-Stars share buses as well. If anything we had better bus service at PO.

I personally think POR and POFQ are worth the extra money for the wonderful surroundings. :)

Good luck with your decision, and have a great trip.

Why would cheerleaders be there during your reservation time? Christmas break doesn't start that early. I have been to ASSP during cheerleader visits (I felt like throwing some of them out of the back of the bus a few times) but I have always found that the "sports squads" are routinely placed in the back of the resort and away from the "normal" guests.

I recently found out that they would be there 12/12-12/15 at least, I hope they don't stay any longer.

The cheerleaders for Pop Warner will be leaving on the 15th. If you are concerned, maybe you could stay at a different hotel until Sunday night, and then switch? Good luck! Tonia

I stayed at the All Star Music last January when the Cheerleaders were there. They were no more annoying than any other guest. The only time they got on my nerves was due to a bus driver stupidly asking them to cheer on the ride back from Epcot. I felt like my eardrums were going to explode. Not something you want when you are trying to relax at the end of the day. A family with a sleeping infant complained because it was terrifying their baby. Other than that incident they were polite and excited to be at WDW.

We were there 2000-2001 from 12/13-1/3 and we had both cheerleaders, football players and I don't know what else. They must have been given rowdy passes out because this was the worst behaved group I found.

We complained to the front desk, the resort manager and anyone we could find but got no satisfaction. We were told sorry, the chaperones will be notified and we know they are a problem but we extra security:confused: during the night to curb their enthusiam. Well, if banging on guest doors' at ungodly hours (like 2-3AM), running up and down, being nasty, obscene language, spitting all over the place, the pool, and being obnoxious, they can stay there all the time. We promised ourselves never to go back. My kids hated it (and they were 7 and 9, and 20). Even my 20 yr. old was confronted by a group of "jocks" who made all kinds of sexual remarks, in front of staff, and no one did anything. It came down to my hubby and I finally telling them to cut it off or they were going to feel our shoes way up in the A**.

Needless to say, ASSP is out for us. We are going back on 2/13/20 but staying at AKL. Its worth the extra money. We have stayed at POR three times and loved it. My oldest has stayed at Coronado Springs and highly recommends it to anyone. She sys its great.

I was even told by the bartender at the ASSP that they are told not to mention to guests, when booking, if there is going to be a large number of groups in the area. No, they are not kept separate from anyone else or in the back, they are all over the resort. From their actions they belonged in a zoo, and not the Animal Kingdom, they are too well behaved there for them.

I never found a bus to be a problem. Rather the bus than driving, and having to take a ferry to your car parking area, or hoofing it to transportation and then to your resort.

I'll take the 10-15 min. bus wait anytime.:jester:

I was there last March when the All Star Cheer Squads were staying at the ASSp and ASMu. We were up near the front of the resort and did not notice the noise from the cheerleaders. The problems we encountered were at meal times and the lines at the food court. The cheerleaders get up early to practice or compete and this seems to be about the same time everyone is trying to eat before a day in the parks and then the same problem at night. If you can still get an AP rate for one of the moderates, I think I would switch my reservation. Have a great vacation whatever you decide. :D

Thanks for all the advice, I called Disney 2 times today. The first time I got a rude CM, I asked politely to be switched to any moderate, I told him that we were going to be at Coronado Springs for the last night of our stay, we were going to have to be moved there because the ASSp was booked for the extra night we wanted. He said that he could move me, but I would have to pay the full rate, I said that it wasn't fair because I wasn't told about the cheerleaders when I booked. He the told me that they have no way of knowing who will be there, and that it was pretty much, my problem. The 2nd time I called, I was very upset, almost in tears, the CM listened to my problem and then asked if I could hold for a minute. She informed me that I was approved to be at Coronado Springs for the whole stay. She says that my saving grace was the fact that I booked the last night on a different code that was still valid. I still think she went the extra mile for me, and Disney will be getting a nice letter about how great she was. Won't EVER book All-Stars again, it's moderates from now on. My husband told me I look a little grayer because of this worring. Thanks for all your advice.:bounce: :bounce:

Congratulations on getting moved to CSR for your entire trip. I've read posts from a lot of people who say that the AS food court is a nightmare when the cheerleader & football teams are there. Here's a little pixie dust for your trip!:p

We stayed at AS Sports twice, once in December/January & once in March. During our Dec/Jan we didn't notice the sports teams at all. Perhaps we were just oblivious because it was our first time in WDW together & all else didn't matter...who knows?? The March stay was CRAWLING with cheerleaders, softball players, baseball player, lacrosse players,etc.... It was a little nuts-- we won't be staying there again, because of that & also we weren't extatic over the service there. But it was definately loud especially in front of the Football building wher they were all practicing! Have fun I'm sure it will be great either way!:D

Yay for you!! I'm glad you got what you wanted! We went to visit the CSR on our last trip to eat and thought it was beautiful! We definitely want to try it out sometime.

Have a great trip!!!!

I love CSR. I do hope you enjoy your stay there! It feels like a luxury hotel at a moderate price.

Congratulations on getting CSR for you entire vacation at a code rate. I have never stayed there but it looks like a beautiful resort. Have a wonderful vacation!!!!

RP Bear - congratulations. Not knocking ASSP but the problem is that when you have such a lot number of young adults and teenagers, with no parental supervision or control, things get hectic.

When we stayed there (13 days of hell) we maybe ate three times in the food court because of all the commotion, the rowdiness plus to top it off we had a severe winterstorm and a lot of airports were closed and people had to make arrangements to remain there for extra days.

Like I said, we stayed there because my little ones wanted to stay there, but never again. I'll forego a Disney vacation if I can't stay in another resort. No ALL STAR for us.

They made us feel like a LOW STAR and no one cared. They were very rude. There wasn't a day that we didn't have to spend the whole day standing on the buses. God forbid any of the younger ones offered you a seat when you had sleeping kids.

Can't wait to do the AKL.
