Should I switch hotels?

I booked a two star hotel by the main entrance to DL, the Anaheim Plaza hotel for one night. I can cancel. Tonight I saw the 3+star Anabelle Hotel advertised for the same price that night. (It's usually @ $50 more expensive and just went 'on sale'. ) It's on Katella, so farther away and would probalby use the PPH walkway to the GC entry.

It's only for one night...but the beds look much more comfy and there may even be breakfast. Not sure if there is a charge to park at the Anabelle.

Not trying to be overly OC, but since there seems to be no penalty to cancel, should I switch?

Haven't stayed at either but the Anabella looks much nicer then the Anaheim Plaza, there is a surcharge for parking according to their site, but it doesn't state how much.

Depends on your plan. If you are spending one night and moving your car to the parking structure, the it might be a good move. If you are planning on walking, at any point, from the hotel to the park, then NO I probably wouldnt bother moving. The Anabelle in not what I would consider walking distance.

I have stayed at both. The Anabella is definately much nicer than the Anaheim Plaza. But it is a pretty easy walk from the Plaza. The Anabelaa is a bit farther but certainly managebale for one day.

don't take this the wrong way but it's a hotel. seriously how many hours will you spend there. personally i love staying on harbour blvd and being able to walk back to my hotel anytime i want.

:goodvibes You're right ironpig, and no I didn't take it the wrong way!!!!

For one night I just need a comfy, clean bed and hopefully a clean bathtub.
I read on trip advisior that each hotel had issues with either/both: ac, hot water, hairs on sheets, cramped quarters (Anabella), very basic (AP).

So what wins is that it's less of a brain drain to just stay put!!!!! Thanks for the input :goodvibes

Sounds like you made your decision, but I really loved the Anabella. Their first floor rooms have hardwood floors, and it felt so CLEAN...I haven't looked at a carpeted hotel room in quite the same way again!

Their staff was also incredibly nice, they always opened the door for me, they chatted pleasantly. When I didn't have cash to tip the guy who brought my bags in, he was gracious, and didn't act THAT surprised when I tipped him a few hours later.

Unless you're staying in their concierge rooms there is no free breakfast, but their restaurant seemed pleasant enough.

They aren't as close as staying close to the entrance on Harbor would be, but it's not a bad walk at all, even with a 35 lb 3 year old on your back (hubby talked me out of bringing our stroller on that trip, ouch). Once you figure out the route from DTD through the GCH lobby (instead of going all the way through DTD and past DCH) it's really not that much further than going to PP, and it's through lovely palm trees, you're walking along half of a HUGE hidden mickey (pull up an aerial view of the area), and it's near CoCos, which had rather good and relatively inexpensive food!

Stayed at Carousel a month later, which is a sister hotel, and the rooms were almost exactly the same, but the staff wasn't anywhere near as nice as Anabella, and I missed the hardwood floors.

But I know nothing of the hotel you have booked. I just enjoyed the Anabella and would stay there again if I didn't have the fabulous entertainment book rate at HoJo.
