Hi,

I just changed my reservations from the Wilderness Lodge to the Polynesian, and I am wondering if I should also change my dining reservations. Currently I have breakfast reservations for Chef Mickey's at 9:00 AM on a Friday, but I am considering switching them to Ohana's. The reason is that the kids like Lilo and Stitch more than Mickey and Friends because Lilo and Stitch was what really introduced them to Disney. Anyways, do you think this is a good idea? Has anybody gone to both restaurants, and is there one you would pick?

Thanks,
Simon :wizard:

You can't go wrong with either. Being at the hotel you are staying at is always nice, especially for an early morning breakfast. O'Hana's is a family style, served to you breakfast, whereas Chef Mickey's is a buffet. So Chef Mickey's will have more variety, however O'Hana's will be nice since you don't have to worry about missing any characters while you are at the buffet. If Lilo and Stitch is your kids' favorite, I would switch to O'Hana. Just don't cancel the Chef Mickey's one until you have the one at O'Hana squared away. That way if they can't get you into O'Hana, you still have the Chef Mickey's one. You can cancel during the same call, just wait until you have the confirmation number in hand for the other one! And yes, I learned that the hard way ;) !

I couldn't vote on that. We love both CM and O'hana. It would be very convenient to go w/ O'hana since you'll be at Poly. Hope you have a wonderful trip!

Hi,

Well, so far I am thinking Ohana's because of it being the kids favorite, in the resort, etc., however I am concerned about the food. Could someone please tell me about the food at both?

Thanks,
Simon :)

Hi,

I just took a look at the menus that Amy & Dan posted, and I am surprised. You have a much larger selection at Chef Mickey's versus Ohana's. To be honest, Ohana's doesn't look good compared to Chef Mickey's. I think I'll keep the Chef Mickey's reservation for breakfast, and then make reservations for Ohana's for dinner when DW and I are at Le Cellier. It will be great for the kids and grandma to go somewhere in the resort instead of going to the parks.

Thanks,
Simon :wizard:

Hi,

As I said above, I'll keep Chef Mickey's. And, what's really good is the convience. I can just hop on the monorail at Poly and ride to GF, MK, and then CR and I'm at Chef Mickey's!

I think you made a good choice for your family. Honestly, I was in the same dilemma for our December trip, picking between the two but chose Chef Mickey's for the variety offered. I am not a big egg or sausage eater so I need other choices! And as you say, the monorail you catch right at the Poly will take you where you need to go. Glad the menus helped and have a fun trip!

And Grandma and the kids will love O'hana for dinner, its a favorite of ours for sure!
