I sent for info for one volunteer opportunity and got a email back a few days later saying she doesn't need anyone now, maybe next month and asked when my trip is. Should I pick another one? I'm just afraid they'll hit their million and I'll still be waiting to hear back from them.

I would sign up for something else if I were you. Then if the first one also comes through, then you get to volunteer twice- which is fun!
