Should I remove/keep room request?

We are recently switched our hotel stay to AKL for our upcoming trip. On our original reservation at the first resort, I requested that we be close to the buses. With little ones we prefer a room closer to the bus stops to avoid long treks mornings/evenings to & from parks. We've requested this before after a bad experience once and it's worked out great since.

When I switched our resort to AKL, the CM on the phone asked if I would like to keep my room request (close to bus stop). I asked her to please remove that request.

We booked a standard room view, but would love a savanna room. We're just excited to be at AKL and will be happy with the standard view, though. However, since the savanna rooms are the furthest from the buses (at least from what I can tell on the map), I think keeping that room request will just penalize us. What if our standard room view happened to be the one closest to the pool room view and was better than the bus stop location room? I just think it sets us up for looking at cars verses the slight chance we might get the foliage/roof combo that would be better.This is probably the only resort that I wouldn't mind being further away from the buses because it will increase our odds of a better view...at least from what I can tell on the map. I could be totally wrong, which is why I'm asking you guys, the experts.

Here's the glitch...the CM wouldn't remove it. I literally asked her three times to take it off. She asked me my reasoning and I expressed I was concerned about being guaranteed a parking lot view with that request (I realize there's a big chance w/ a standard room anyway), but I don't want to feel I've sealed my fate and guaranteed a parking lot view. After I expressed my concerns, she said she would change it to: be close to buses and no parking lot view if possible.

Aren't the savanna and pool rooms further out to be closer to the animals, and the standard rooms the closest to the bus stops (front of hotel I'm assuming) anyway? I don't want to be closer...unless it's closer to the animals. At the same time, will the request of not a parking lot view help us to stay away from the view of cars? Obviously with the standard room I'm not viewing animals, so maybe the request of no parking lot will help; it might increase the odds of foliage/roof. So overall, what do you think? Will that request help or hinder us?

Should I leave it, or call and talk to another CM and ask to have the request removed?

I'd leave the request alone, since your main concern was being close to the bus stops. I don't understand your concern about a savannah location or pool view since you have a reservation for a standard room. Keep in mind that your room requests are never guaranteed. There are plenty of public areas to view the animals without having a savannah room, although you might want to consider spending the extra money for a pool view room if you are concerned about location. I think the standard rooms at AKL are generally a parking lot or roof top view.

You're right. When I looked at the map more thoroughly, it appears the ONLY option for standard room view is the parking lot or a roof. It appears there are no rooms just against the pool side view that offer not as a great a view or more foliage. It appears parking lot only. I'd be ok with a roof, but I'd love to have some foliage. I'm just hoping for a view that's not full of cars. Wishful thinking.
