Here's what I have so far for our 8 night stay in Feb.
Sci-fi dinner
Royal Table lunch
Donald duck breakfast
Tony's dinner to sit outside for night parade
O'hana dinner

This takes up 6 of our 8 TS
should I pay oop for one of these and use credit on something else?
what do you suggest?
I have twin DD7
from what i've read so far I can split oop and ddp in the same meal

Of those, I'd pay OOP for the Cinderella Royal Table lunch -- it's the lowest value per credit, the way I figure it.

You may encounter trouble paying OOP for children 3-9 while using DDP for adults, since Disney doesn't have any other mechanism right now for ensuring we comply with their rules. So I wouldn't count on that.

I am 99.9% confident that the will allow you pay OOP and pay for the child meals with the Dining Plan credits. Even though they shouldn't have ANY problem with that, I cannot say it with 100% assurance. :( :)

Breakfast is usually cheaper $ for credit wise. So if you need to open up another credit I would pay cash for breakfast. (And def. pay for the royal table. I dont think it is worth 2 credits!)

CRT is not worth 2 table credits for what you get. Look at the dollar value of the meal and compare it to two other restaurants that your family will eat ate. If you were going to pay OOP, I believe that you would be ahead if you paid OOP for CRT.

Thanks I didn't look at it that way, trying to figure where else to eat. Many places are booked up for the times we need.

I agree with the above, also the Donald's Breakfast is the cheapest of all the meals and I would not use a credit for it.

Okay, now I am starting to get very upset with the folks at Diseny. I was told that there would never be any problem with me paying OOP for any meal that I want. I called because of concerns about DD not wanting what is on the kids menu at certain restaurants. I was told that I could either pay out of pocket or I could order her an adult meal and pay the difference between the cost of a kids meal and the meal that I actually ordered. Now, you guys are telling me that you experienced situations where they would not let you pay OOP for some meals and use DDP for others. If they don't allow me to do this I am going to end up paying for a lot of our meals adnt the plan to.

I agree with paying OOP for CRT. CRT, IMHO, is a low value for one TS credit...let alone two. YMMV.

And don't forget -- when you run short of TS credits -- that a number of the CS outlets offer HUGE meals for one CS credit. The Cosmic Ray's chicken & ribs platter is just one example -- so I'd study the CS menues a bit.

The CS meals are CSR's Pepper Market are incredibly huge. We got two orders of the Sampler platter and must have had 6 or more large plates from those two orders.
