Hello! It's been about six years since I have done the Disney, and I am feeling rusty. That said, I am concerned about the 180 day ADR window...I plan to finalize a booking through AAA in the next few weeks or so, but with our trip scheduled for early August, I am worried that we won't be able to get bookings at the TS restaurants that we want. I have seen several threads about people looking for cancellations?! Should I be concerned about this? I think at this point we are less than 120 days out from when we plan to go. I want to book a package with dining, but I also want to be sure that we can eat in the World at the places we want - Jiko, Boma (staying at AKL), Raglan Road, etc. Any thoughts/opinions/advice would be appreciated.

Also, can I make ADRs before I have paid anything toward our package? Or do I get a reservation number after paying the deposit and must have this to make ADRs? (I can't recall how it worked last time since it was so long ago!)

You can start making your dining reservations now because you are within the 180 day window. Anyone with or without a resort reservation, off site visitors, and local residents can make reservations starting 180 days before the day they want to dine.

If you plan to book CRT or the dinner shows (Hoop De Doo, Spirit of Aloha Luau, Mickey's Backyard Barbecue) you'll have to pay in full at the time of booking if you don't have the dining plan. If you get the dining plan and want to use dining credits instead you can modify the form of payment either on the phone or when you dine.

Just wanted to second was purple said, and tell you to start booking now. You will be required to put down a cc guarantee for each reservation, but as long as you cancel at least 1 day before the reservation, you will not be charged.
