We are making ps's through AKL concierge. Should I mention it will be dbf's birthday. I would like to embarass him a little....lol
Will they note it on our ps??

Yes ... definitely mention it! Sometimes nothing special happens .... and other times you get some good responses. It is worth going for it!:D

Our first full day last year was my dh's birthday. When I made our ps arrangements, I asked that it be noted on the two reservations for that day and also for Akershus b/c I knew he would love having those beautiful Norwegian women singing to him. The operator said she believed she would just make it his birthday all week.

At the two restaurants on his actual birthday -- 1900 Park Faire and Boma -- I told the hostess that it was his birthday. In both cases, he was brought an oversized decorated cupcake. A much bigger deal was made at 1900, though -- all the characters came back to wish him happy birthday and they had the entire restaurant to sing to him.

When we got to Akershus several days later, I never even considered mentioning the birthday. I was as surprised as him when our server brought a full-size one layer cake and all the servers sang a song in Norwegian and gave him a certificate they had signed. It was really cool, and we actually had half the cake boxed up to take back to the resort.

My dh is a ham and enjoyed all this very much. He also enjoyed wearing his birthday button (Get at any park's Guest Services.) He got seranaded by a couple cast members and one put him on the telephone with Goofy. Lots of fun.

I would also expect AKL Concierge to do something. My dh got balloons and a card from the YC.

Absolutely mention his birthday, not only when you reserve your room but when you make your PS for dinner. Disney is always sure to make occasions special when they know ahead of time.

Definitely mention his birthday! I took my dd to 1900 park faire for her birthday and they made a big to-do about it. They brought her a big decorated cupcake and the hostesses and characters had everyone in the restaurant sing happy birthday to her. Tigger made such a fuss, he fed her her cupcake! so memorable for her. We never expected them to do so much. Any age for a birthday at Disney is great. Just make sure that at checkin for PS at where you are eating that you remind them, but it should be noted in the PS system when you tell them at scheduling (at scheduling ask if they do anything for birthdays). Also, dont forget to pick up his birthday button at guest services at the park. Most of the CMs will engage conversation with the person and wish them happy birthday! MY DD loved it because she got the front seat on Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. Enjoy and good luck!!!!!

Always mention birthdays--and you can have them note this on more than one PS!

At the MK, my DH was wearing a "Today is my birthday!" button that we picked up in town hall and a CM in the Tiki Room gave him a pass to get to the front of the line at any ride we chose.

At the All-Star Music Resort, he got a birthday card from Mickey.

At Teppanyaki, he got a whole birthday cake that we shared with our table.

At Chef Mickey's, he got a birthday cupcake and placemat.

At O'Hana, he got another birthday cupcake and certficate from Mickey.

At the Sci-Fi Drive In, he got a birthday sundae.

At Le Cellier, he got a chocolate "moose."

He was spoiled rotten and loved every minute of it!
