hello everyone - i'm a newbie to this but have been snooping about here for a while. I've had my sights set on the WP for...ever! BUT I'm worried about this construction going on and don't want it to spoil the day, especially since i'll be trekking across from the UK! I understand that the initial construction will probably be done by October 2012 (when we hope to go) but I imagine things will still be going on and the walls will still be up.

Any advice?!

Could you put your trip back slightly to give themselves time to tidy up/finish off.

I'm not letting it discourage me. The inside will still look beautiful.

It certainly will! I'm just worried about photos....although, I've been looking over the construction photos more and more and I think i'm convincing myself that I'll be too busy to notice!

I've thought about this lots but trying to organise our families for October has been a difficult enough! Everyones about managed to secure time off work so it's pretty much October or wedding in the UK which I reallllllly didn't want to do. I think i'm going to risk it and just keep my fingers crossed it'll be alright on the day :)

I have thought about this a lot as well. My wedding is five days after yours. :) But, after thinking about it awhile, I decided that the WP is where I have always wanted to get married and have dreamed of getting married, and no construction is going to stop me. Plus, they will probably be starting work on the interior by the time next October rolls around. And, the new stained glass windows are gorgeous in the WP, and makes you feel away from everything. :) And, you will only be in that area for the ceremony, and you'll be inside most of the time anyway. :)

I would not let it discourage you. I just got married there 3 weeks ago. I thought the construction would make everything look ugly and I wouldn't get decent pictures. Honestly speaking the WP was where I wanted to get married and everything looked amazing to me. The walls aren't that bad. My photographer, Randy, took pics more over by the Poly side so as to not have the walls in the background. I have not received them yet but he showed me some previews that day. Another bit of advice if you want to get married there and are worried about noise do it later in the day. We had our ceremony at 5:00 pm so they were done for the day. They stop at 4:30. pm. Good luck with your decision. My advice is if that's where you want your special day to be, so be it. :goodvibes:goodvibes

Hi there

Like you i am also a UK bride hoping for October 2012 at the wedding pavillion. I have thought this over plenty, none of my family have been to Florida before and i really want everything to bowl them over as much as it did us.
For me, no matter how much construction is going on i am determined it will not spoil my day, they can be digging right outside for all i care, the fact is i will be in sunny (hopefully) Florida having the wedding of my dreams with my closest friends and family and i cannot wait!! :dance3: x
