I booked with a local TA and except for a deposit receipt (from the TA office for money received) I have received nothing. She had DCL paperwork for me in her file but nothing she could copy for me. She said I'd only get confirmation once the balance is paid in full. Should I worry??
You won't get any kind of confirmation from DCL since you booked thru a TA.
For both of our upcoming cruises we received confirmations/receipts from our travel agents with all the pertinent information, but nothing directly from DCL. This was also the case last year with our first DCL cruise.
The confirmations I get from DCL also have agency-only information on them, like what my commission is.
Basically if you're a random person and you book with DCL they send you the confirmation. If you book with a TA then the TA gets the confirmation with all the extra information on it. DCL doesn't send out anything for you the client, they trust that the TA will provide you with the information you need to know (if you're waitlisted for dinner seatings, cabin information, and most importantly payment information)
DCL should be able to look up the reservation even if you booked through a TA. DCL just can't make any changes to the reservation (well, ultimately DCL could make whatever changes they want of course, but they need the TA's "permission" since it might impact their sale/commission).
Call DCL and they should be able to look it up by your sail date, name, and some demographic info (address, birthday, etc). You can then get the reservation number for it for your own reference.
