Should I have noted that we'll be celebrating an anniversary on our ADRs?

I've already booked my ADRs for our trip in May. But, since then, I've realized that a lot of people note special occasions they're celebrating on their reservations when they book. Should I have noted that me and my boyfriend will be celebrating an anniversary? I know it's never guaranteed, but do they sometimes do special things for you?

If I call back, can I get them to note it on all my reservations? Or does it even matter? :confused3

Most check-in cast members at the restaurants will ask you 'are you celebrating anything this evening?' when you check in for your ADR.

Even if they don't ask, you could tell them 'Jones, party of 2, checking in for our anniversary dinner!'

THe most frequent things that may happen are confetti/streamers on your table, and perhaps chocolate writing or a chocolate plaque that says 'happy anniversary' on your dessert plate.

The only reason you would need to give a restaurant advance notice is if you have ordered a cake or some other specialty thing to be delivered during the meal.

Happy early Anniversary! :flower3:

I was there in Jan. for a host of reasons and I mentioned them when booking. The server would normally mention it. There's no harm in it unless you're trying to keep your relationship a secret :)

Thank you! :goodvibes

I'll be sure to let them know what we're celebrating if they ask at check-in. I've been considering ordering a cake, too. Thanks for letting me know about the advance notice to the restaurant!

No, I'm definitely not trying to keep my relationship a secret! haha.

Did you get any kind of special suprises? Or were you just wished a Happy Anniversary? Is it worth it to call back and note our special occassion on our ADRs?

I only mentioned the special occassions for when I made ADRs at certain places like California Grill to "bump up" my odds of getting a good table near the window and stuff. I didn't mention it when I made reservations at the Sci-Fi Drive-In.

I mentioned it when I actually booked the vacation on the phone. Because of that they mentioned it at check-in and I was upgraded to club level (not sure if this was b/c it was our first time or because of the reason for our trip). I did get a birthday card one night in the room "signed" by Goofy with a picture of him in it. There's no harm in mentioning it. Maybe you'll be upgraded too!

Wow, you got some awesome suprises! I'm not going to hope for anything special to happen, but it will be very nice if it does!

Thanks for letting me know your experience.

We just came back from a trip at the end of January. We were celebrating our 2 year anniversary. I let them know when I was booking our reservations. The night of our anniversary we were at Le Cellier and they gave us free champagne and strawberries. Just a little something special. But it made us feel great.

Definitely let them know you are celebrating your anniversary! DH and I celebrated our first wedding anniversary there last September and it was so special. We did a split stay, and we were upgraded to CL at both the Poly and Beach Club. It was fantastic!

We got personalized menus at Narcoossee's (where we dined on the actual date of our anniversary), a great table that was decorated with confetti at the Cali Grill, and "Happy Anniversary" written on many desserts with chocolate!

I had it noted on my reservation, ADRs, and also mentioned it when we checked in.

Congrats and have a great time!
:woohoo:
