Arriving Oct 15 and returning on Oct 24 on Air Tran ---$176 per person. Or should I wait til it gets closer.

Tough call. Fuel prices could rise and with it, so will the airline costs. But with Southwest now flying out of PHL, you stand a good chance of seeing better rates. Right now, USAir is offering RT PHL --> MCO for $98 (before taxes and fees). But you have to fly in May or June. A similar affer may come up in October when SW starts taking ressies for October flights.

We have researched and kept track of airfares out of Philly for quite a while. The quote you have is the same as Southwest's regular fare and USAir has been matching it. Southwest did announce a big FL sale for this summer and the rate is $117. I don't know if SW will offer this rate again, I don't think we can even begin to guess.
We bought our tickets for January for $176 on USAir since we are flying the weekend of NYE and did not think SW would offer big sales over the holidays. Historically (without SW) rates out of Philly have been around $185 - $250 so we were happy with the rate we have.

hi,
try calling united airlines....their fare for us was $116.70 including taxes for the beginning of september...travelocity showed these fares were aviliable through february...its at least worth a try..the other airlines cheap fares stopped after august...::MinnieMo ::MickeyMo

I just got USair for $116 pp round trip (taxes and fees included) for the end of August. Check around...that is really not "good" for what is being offered right now. I think SW is offering the same price as USair. I just like USairs times better (and the fact you get assigned seats)...there are some really good deals out there and for whatever reason Airtran hasn't really been as good as SW or USair. I understand SW may expand their flight times...so more flights may eventually pop up for them!

We payed $176 for the beginning of Sept. If rates drop will they credit you???

Dansyr -- US Air will give you a transportation voucher for the amount it has dropped. Now you must book within 1 year of getting the voucher and you can book 1 year ahead. So in theory you could fly 2 years from voucher. Now the deal is, your flight has to still be availabe ( I think) for purchase, not sold out. And you cannot book online.

I have $100 in vouchers I need to use before Aug, but I couldn't use them against the great online rate I just got for Feb 2005.

I will need to book something by Aug 23.

USAir used to just credit you credit card, oh they were the days.

Thanks DeDixie

I don't know if flight prices will drop but if they do ......I don't want to have to hear dbf saying...see I told you we should've waited.

USair credited my creditcard just this past Monday $160.00 for three tickets. The flights went from $176.70pp to 116.70 pp. I expected to get a voucher but I actually got my money back...I don't know how or why. I called expected a voucher but got sooo much more!!

Airtran does not credit...that is why if your not happy w/ the price go w/ SW or USair.

we just booked air trans from philly/orlando for aug. We paid a total ot 778 for 4. then I checked airfares on the site, and found the same fares drooped by 100.00! When I called to see if I could get a credit for the difference ( to be used on a future flight) I was told no, they dont do that. So now Im out a 100.00 just because I booked early. Just be careful when you book. while I still got a good fare (the cheapest around for aug) I still lost money. This is my first time flying air trans
