I am thinking about going to Disneyland this summer. We have always gone to Disney World. I need info about Disneyland where to start? We will be in Colorado this summer and I thought we could take about 5 days and go to Disneyland. I can't figure out were to stay and how much time we need to see everything. Any info would be great.

First off...love your pic! I had just posted in another thread we were doing Sea World for the first time this March, and all my DD wants is to touch a dolphin! What do they feel like anyway?

I think Disneyland in the summer is PACKED. This is from what I have heard, so IMO I would take the full 5 days there and get a hotel/motel across the street so you can walk back and forth to your room for swimming and breaks quickly and easily. Not sure on your budget, but there are quite a few right across the street.
Check this out...I love this site!

Petting the dolphins was the best part of our trip for me. I kept asking my DH to go and get me more fish I did not want to lose my spot. My DS 9 was not impressed with this. I could of spent the day right in that spot.

Thank you for the info about the hotels. I think this is something we may be doing.

DD9 wants to know what the dolphin felt like? Thanks.

I've always spent two days at Disneyland and thought that was enough. Do you think you might want to go to Universal Studios and Knotts Berry Farm also? Be sure to buy GOOD QUALITY shoes. I made the mistake of not doing that and after two days of walking all day I felt like my feet we're going to fall off. I can help you decide what hotel to stay at, but that really all depends on how much $$ you're willing to spend. I always stayed at Good Neighbor hotels. Howard Johnson is nice. But last summer I decide to spoil my mom and I and stay at a resort hotel. We stayed at the Paradise Pier and it was SOOO worth the extra money. You have the benefit of your purchases being brought to your hotel and many more. Good luck planning your trip! :sunny:

The best time to visit is in the morning (get there before opening), ride as many rides as you can and get fastpasses for as many rides as you can (you can use them anytime after the return window opens, even up until the park closes). The afternoons get very crowded, so you can use some of your fastpasses or watch the parade. Take a break and then come back for evening activities, but keep in mind that most of the evening will be taken up waiting for the fireworks or Fantasmic, unless you decide to skip these to do more rides (recommend seeing them both, but not on the same night). It is almost impossible to move around the park once the fireworks start, so get where you want to be and plan to spend the rest of the night there. I recommend at least 2 days for Disneyland, preferably 3, plus one day for California Adventure. Again, you can get more rides done between opening and 11am than you can the entire rest of the day, so get there early!

If you can afford it, it is really nice to stay onsite, but there are many motels just across the street that are decent (think 2-3 stars). The best choices seem to be Candy Cane Inn (you have to contact them directly or visit their website to make reservations, you will not find them on Expedia etc.), Hojo, Carousel Inn, and BW Park Place Inn. I personally don't think Knott's Berry Farm is worth it, but Universal Studios is fun if you have a car and an extra day.

They feel just like a wet rubber/eraser. Just an amazing feeling touching them and being so close to them. Fantastic experience!! :goodvibes

I was there in August and it was very busy, but very doable. Get there early.
Simba one is right. Very strange feeling. You have to look at their eyes while you are petting them. It will be an interesting and very enjoyable experience.

We were just there for the first time in December, spent 5 nights/6 days, and I honestly could've used another 2-3 days there. We stayed at DLH, never left Disney property, and had the best time! And I know it was very crowded in December, yet we managed to get by without much waiting (go early and use FastPass!). Go for it! Have a great trip! :thumbsup2
