Should I get Disney Visa?

Just got an offer for the Disney Visa. DH and I put everything on credit cards and pay it off at the end of each month (we use it like cash). The offer seems good ($200 gift card after first use). We'd put the other cards away and use this - in order to earn as many points as we could! :cool1: Do the gift cards have expiration dates? How have you found the rewards part of the card to be?

We will be in Orlando next week and paying for all food we buy at DTD with reward dollars. We charge just about everything and it adds up pretty fast. Never had a problem redeeming them.

We have never had a problem using our reward dollars. They put them on a Visa-type card. I know some people bash Chase, but I have never had an issue with them and we've had them for more than 10 years.

You should only get one if you can pay off the balance each month. If you can do that, it's great for free disney money!

Yes, I love the Disney Rewards Visa...lucky you to get a $200 card...I only got a $25 one when I applied for mine!

If you charge everything & pay it off at the end of the month, I think this card will be perfect for you. Thats exactly what we do...charge groceries, gas, little things here & there, meals, and the rewards do add up quickly.

Also, not sure if you have kids or not, but if so...if you are a Disney Visa Cardholder, there is a FREE meet & greet daily from 1:30-4:30pm at Innoventions West Building at EPCOT. Make sure you have your card with you. They also give you a coupon to redeem a free 5x7 photo. I've heard that this meet & greet includes some of the main characters like Mickey, Donald Duck, etc and its only open to Visa cardholders. Its a private meet & greet where each family goes into a room privately with the characters to get photos taken. Just thought I'd share! Love the perks!

I agree that I would not get one if I couldn't pay my balance. The APR was high even before the economy crashed and now it is absurd. We have good credit.I can't imagine having to depend on this card! We only use ours for trips, so we don't have to pay the interest very often.

I wish I could get it again for the $200 offer. Our Disney Visa has been great. It is the easiest 'reward' card that we have. One or two calls...and we get stuff paid for. We're going to DLR resort for the first time and will have about $250 on our rewards card this time. With one character meal for about $110 or so - we should be able to eat all our other meals for our 3 days there (eating breakfasts in room) plus get a couple of souveniers for 'free'. LOVE IT!

How do you get the $200 offer??? If I got that offer, I definitely would get the Visa card :goodvibes

I think it works great. We're in the middle of building a house and we put as much on the card as we can (paying it off every month of course) and so I'm hoping it will pay for most of our stay at Pop in Sept :)

It just came in the mail. I checked online, and they're only offering $15. :confused3 Looks like I'll do mine through the snail mail offer they sent me! :cool1:

my husband & I love the meet and greet at epcot, we try to do it every trip!

plus you get 6 months interest free when you use your disney visa and book a disney vacation

We use ours for everything - all purchase and all direct bills (utilities, phone, life insurance, etc...). Everything comes through that that card and I pay it EVERY 2 WEEKS as I am paying the rest of my bills. I update activity, determine my balance, and send in payment - that way I make sure I never get behind. We are DVC members and we use our rewards to pay for our annual fees. We log about $500 in rewards each year - works out beautifully!

If you use it like we do - it's a great thing. If you don't pay it off, you can do better on interest rates elsewhere.

The same also applies to people who have a Disney Visa debit card from chase, the only thing is that you have to have a checking account with them and pay an annual fee of $25.00. The card is blue instead of red, but you get the same privilege. I am not sure about dollar for dollar on the purchases though, just hit their site for info!!:yay:

I have a Disney Visa but got it only for the offer at the time- I believe it was $75 towards dues at DVC which at the time was a decent offer for a no-fee card. We already had and still have one other card that I prefer as I can rack up rewards at a much faster pace. I haven't had problems with this card although like many others got the letter that my interest rate was increasing and now tied to the prime rate. Since I pay it off each month that has no impact on me. I really only use it though when booking a Disney resort stay or cruise.---Kathy

Sounds like I should go for it considering the great offer! It'll be nice to save some $$ off our next trip! Thanks all for your help.

The $200 offer is good but there are better rewards cards out there. Disney Visa gives only 1% unless they are running a special promotion for higher % on certain things - there are other cards out there that are 2% or more cash back and you can then use that cash at Disney (or anywhere) and have twice as much of it. Just sayin'. We still have a DV but mostly use it for Disney bookings only.

The back of your offer has a web address to apply for the $200 offer online. It will ask for the invitation number listed on your paper copy.
