Should I get an AP? Need Advice

I will be going to WDW in January and staying at ASMo for 6 nights. I already bought 2 4 day park hopper plus passes from Hotwire Savings club. Now if the AP discounts are the same as last year then I will save $188 on ASMo which is $7 less than I paid for the 4 day hopper. If we decide to play mini golf the cost is basically the same. I thought this was a no brainer but DH thinks Im nuts! His issue is that we have already paid for the pass we have and it would cost us more money.

Does anyone know whether DH and I cam "share" the AP? I thought I could take DS to see the fireworks our first night while DH stays home with DD (10 months - way past her bedtime) and then he could use it to take DS one morning while I stay at the hotel with my parents (they are coming for 2 days and dont want to go into the parks).

I also thought we might want to come back at the end of our trip. We are staying 4 nights at Universal with 5 day passes but I think that might be more than we need. DS will be almost 3 and cant go on a lot of things at Universal so 4 days at the 2 parks seems like a lot.

Any advice on what to do or how to sell it to DH? I mentioned that we could come back next Jan and one ticket would already be paid for -- it didnt go over as well as I had hoped

You can't share an AP because you have to do the electronic finger thing (?) every time you enter a park. However, I'm getting an AP simply for the room discounts, and as an incentive to go back in the same year We've already bought our hopper passes, too, but I plan to upgrade to AP's once we arrive. I want to return this summer & next Dec. Our first trip in 2004 is for Spring Break & I can't wait!

Though you can't share the AP, the PHP doesn't have to belong to one person exclusively and it has no expiration, so you could save the 2nd PHP for another trip.
