OK, here's the situation....

Going to WDW for 5 days (4 nights) in March. SO has never been. We're doing a half day in AK , 1 whole day each in EPCOT and DHS and a day and a half at MK, in order to get everything we want done.

I have a 2:40 res at Le Cellier for the whole day that we are at EPCOT, but I'm wondering if we should dump it. EPCOT is my favorite park, and stopping for a fancy lunch could put a serious damper in the very limited day we have. We already have a lot of nice restaurants planned (V&A, Rose & Crown for Illuminations, CA Grille for Wishes!, Tony's, Boma, 1900, Yachtsman, Crystal Palace), plus, we're from Manhattan and eat out all the time at nice places.

Is Le Cellier really worth it?

I would keep it. That would be a good time to take a break from touring and rest for a while. If you were to give it up, I would go to Kona Cafe one night at the Poly. It's much better than Le Cellier to me. My steak was way better and the service was too.

I could go either way on this one. I really like Le Cellier for lunch, but there are great CS options all over Epcot. If I only had one day in each park though, I probably would stick to one TS a day, just due to time.

LC is a must do for us.. EP is also my fave park but I think if you get there at opening you'll have plenty of time to do most things.. I think lunch at LC would be a nice break.. You have got to get the filet! I always sub for cream cheese mash potatos they are heavenly

Le Cellier was our favorite meal (NY strip is awesome) out of 18 on our last trip. It was our first time to try it and it is on our must do list from here on out. It is nice to sit down and take a break after all the walking you will be doing at Epcot. If you are worried about it taking too long, tell your waiter that you want this meal to be as quick as possible. Order everything (apps, drinks, entree, dessert) at the beginning.

That's an interesting idea. Given that we have an R&C reservation only a few hours later, we're not going to be doing apps or dessert at lunch.

I am probably in the minority here, but yes I would skip Le Cellier. Reason being that it was nothing special. I don't get what all the hype is about. We probably would not eat there again but hey, maybe we had an "off" day. We loved the counter service restaurant in Mexico as well as the Rose & Crown. I live in Jersey and have much better restaurants within a 10 mile radius!

That being said, we did what PP suggested... ordered everything all at once. Service was very quick! Happy Planning! :goodvibes

LC is good but not something that I am heartbroken over not having....if park time is more important to you than I would cancel it

I would cancel...we went Sept 09, waited well over an hour to get seated for our ADR. Place was crowded (you are sitting right up against the next table), waiter was rushing us, food was mediocre including my filet which was served over hard, undercooked risotto. Not to mention, you are sitting in a dark and dreary room (hence the name) in the middle of the afternoon. Even the hostess admitted that the ADR's were regularly waiting 45 min or more b/c they are overbooked for every meal, every day.

We had a much better meal at Tutto Italia with friendly servers, generous portions, and attention to service.

We had a ressie for Easter, but ended up switching out for Biergarten. Our reason was this...we have a TIW card, but Easter is blacked out. After much thought, we changed ressies to Biergarten 1) it is much easier on our wallet 2) we wanted a fun place to eat on Easter and 3) we opted for a big meal at lunchtime instead of dinnertime. I did try to get another ressie for LeCellier for a different day when we can use the discount, but they were all booked . Guess we'll have to wait till next trip.

I vote with those who would keep the Le Cellier ADR. We had a late lunch there about that same time and were seated within 5-10 minutes. I just ordered the cheddar cheese soup and a salad. My DH just ordered the steak which was very good. We both loved the breads and I had a few bites of the steak. I know it took less than an hour out of our day and it was a welcome break. We ate dinner at The Yachtsman Steakhouse 5 hours later. It was fun to compare the two in one day! Yachtsman had better steak but we spent lots more money there!

I would dump it.

I ate a very good meal there last week, and service was great, however having 2 sitdown meals on my only Epcot day would be a major buzz kill, especially since there is sooo much good CS in that park. If you have a ADR at R&C for dinner I would suggest snacking ( and drinking ) around the world. I would hit La Cava Tequila for snacks and a drink, and grab a CS meal to share from France or Morroco.

tony's is so-so, crystal palace gets rave reviews from those who like buffets but i think it's one you could skip, and 1900 park fare was fabulous for the experience but none of the 6 people who we went with and who have very varied tastes in food likes/dislikes liked the food... in short you could dump any of them and i'd keep le cellier.

i would recommend cancelling for a couple reasons.

1. Since it sounds like seeing things at EPCOT is most important and you have Rose and Crown for Illuninations already.
The two sit down meals in one day will take alot of time.

2. Also if your used to eating in Mahattan I would guess you would find LeCell nice but nothing great.
Its not a top of the line steakhouse, a big reason it's popular because it's small and fewer chances at ADR's.

3. If your having Yachtmans you'll get a better steak there anyhow.

It's not really a question of the other restaurants. 1900 is in our hotel, plus I wanted to do one character breakfast. Crystal Palace we're doing mostly to get into the park early and take video (I know, I know), and Tony's we're definitely doing because the Lady & the Tramp scene is my boyfriend's favorite scene in any Disney movie.

I would also side on dumping for a couple of reasons. 1. Epcot is a big park, we never are able to do everything we want even though we have been multiple times. Always feels like you run out of time at this park. 2. Your lunch ressie is about as late as you can go for lunch, assuming that your possibly not sat right away, it could be 430 before your done, are you going to want dinner that soon after? Can I assume your on the Deluxe dining plan with so many restaurants? I would still be inclined to find an early lunch ADR to use the credit if wanting the extra sit down rather than trying to shoehorn in Le Cel.

In your situation, I would cancel the Le Cellier ADR.

The steaks themselves are just OK. They were on par with a chain like Outback or Longhorn. I really loved all the other items I've tried, and would go back for those in an instant, but if you're worried about park time, then I think you should cancel.

If you want a steak dinner on your trip, you're probably better off ordering one at Yachtsman or Cali Grill.

Dump it. Le Cellier is good, but frankly, it wasn't even close to our best meal. I don't get the hype.:confused3 With the schedule you have you don't need to eat a sit down lunch so close to dinner time. Lot's of good CS at Epcot to choose from. Have a great trip!!

Thanks, I'm pretty sure you guys have convinced me to dump it, especially if it's just like Outback. We regularly go to some of the top steakhouses in the country, but it sounds like we can skip this.

I would vote for dumping as well. This restaurant is all about hype and people want a ressie because it's so hard to get in and it's only 1 table service credit instead of 2. It's not what it once was because of free dining. We had a bad experience there 2 years ago (undercooked meat, rushed service, bad waiter) and won't be back any time soon, next time we will try somewhere like Shula's or Yachtsman.
