Should I do online check in?? Arriving Dec 28 AKL

I can't decide! I've read good and not so good things about on line check in. We will be arriving at AKL about 11:30am. I'm imagining at this time of the year that chances of our rooms being ready early are slim to none.

I have two rooms and did request adjoining or at least close together. I know it is not guaranteed, but would I be better off to check in when I arrive so that I can make sure that these requests were noted and that we (hopefully) get what was requested?

What are the advantages of online check in?

What are the advantages of online check in?

The advantage is supposed to be a shorter wait time checking in, because all of your stuff is printed out and processed before you arrive. In on line check in, you have the option of putting your arrival time in...whether that increases your chances of having the room ready when you arrive is unclear. I've experienced both.

The problem is that the on line check in line can be just as long as regular sometimes...it really just all depends on when you're checking in really.

Where you have a couple of requests, I would recommend against you doing on line check in, because if you have issues with your room requests not being met, you are essentially holding up the line for people who truly just want to grab and go.

We've used on line checkin about 10 times and it has always saved us time at the counter. No reason not to do it.
