Should I Check-In OnLine????

Okay, here's the scenario. We have a SWA flight Monday morning at 7:00 a.m. I have a car coming for us at 4:15 a.m. (YIKES), so we will be at the airport by approx. 5:00 a.m. Obviously, I have to be up at 3:00 a.m. Monday morning. Should I set my alarm to get up at 12:00 a.m. in order to check-in online (I have separate conf. #'s for each traveler), or do I just wait till we get to the airport and check-in with a skycap. I would really like "A" Boarding Passes, since I have a teen with me who has not flown before. I want us to be together.

I'm a little worried that if I don't check-in at 12:01 a.m. I may not get an "A" Boarding Pass.

Any thoughts??

Given your scenario, I would get up and do the online boarding at midnight. Having a previous non-flier would tip the scales for me to make sure I had a "A" boarding pass. Does online booking assure that you get an "A" boarding pass?

You may go back to sleep and sleep better knowing that you have all bases covered. Otherwise, you might not sleep as soundly. If you do, don't forget to reset the alarm for 3am.

Just a thought. Have a good trip. Make sure you have ponchos for Monday.

i just asked a similar question on another thread on this board about how the online check in will work. some posters wrote that they were told that there would be a mixture of passes given online (I.E. A, B, and C passes) so checking in online doesn't guarantee an A pass. check that thread for further info

i would also call southwest. i am nervouse about this too but unfortunately probably won't be answered until someone checks in online and sees what happens!

I think they are probably distributing the Boarding Passes between On-Line, Skycaps, Counter, etc. If they didn't, it would be extremely unfair to those folks who do not have computers. Checking-in online doesn't guarantee us "A" Boarding passes, but we probably have a pretty good chance if I check-in at 12:01 a.m.

I think I will sleep better if a I check-in online, especially if we do get "A" Boarding Passes.

Well.... On line check in appears to have a few flaws. It is 12:17 AM and I just tried to check in on line. It won't let me. It did let me check in on line for the flight down a few days ago so I don't think it is the ticket.

Update

I went back and tried again at 11 am. Checked in with no problem. SO.... not sure I will bother with a late night again. (If I had not been up, I would not have bothered anyway.)

I got an A. I checked in around 11 am for a 3 pm flight.
