Should I check-in online?

I'll be heading to SSR on Wed and i'm deciding if I should do online check-in. We do have some room requests on the reservation and I will not be the one checking in. A friend of mine who is listed on the reservation arrives a few hours before the rest of us so she will be checking in. She has only been to WDW once many years ago and has never stayed on property. She knows of the requests-has no idea what they mean- but knows about them lol. Since we put in room requests, should we stick to regular check-in?

I'm all for waiting until I get there to check in. I don't think there is much time saved by checking in on line ahead of time. By being there in person, you can ask the CM if your requests were met, and get it fixed right away if not.

If you use online check in, you will probably be able to save some time at the check in desk. Its probably too late to modify your room request vi online check in - my guess is that your rooms have already been assigned.

I've used online check in for myself and not for guests who were checking in at the same time as me with no issues. I think I saved 2 minutes time, and we both ended up in the same building at SSR. I got the view of the parking lot and my guests got a view of the lake / springs.

Are you on the DDP? If so your friend will have to pay for all of you. I try to get my MIL to check in ahead of me for just that reason.

Can someone clarify regarding any special request that were made at time of booking with MS. I thought I read that your requests are zapped if you check in online. Did I misunderstand?
