I have reservations for the doubles room, cheapest with ENT rate. It is just DS4 and myself. I am reading freeway noise is bad, how bad? We usually sleep with a radio on. Also I heard these are in the back of the building, is it safe and well lit for a mom and young son? I could change it to QQ for $40 more total, or stay at Del Sol for $40 total less Or the Quality Inn next door for $80 less then the DD room I have now. What would you all suggest? :confused3 Safty is a concern since its just the 2 of us, first time EVER going on vacation without another adult. I also need to be able to sleep well. Thanks so much! We leave Saturday!

The doubles do not back to the freeway, so noise should not be a problem. We stayed in freeway facing rooms, and with the fan on we never were bothered by noise. We were there last week and had absolutely no safety concerns. My husband is extremely protective when it comes to me being out alone at night, but had no problems with the kids and I walking back to the hotel by ourselves 2 nights.

The doubles are in the pavillion buildings in the middle of the property. None of them back to the freeway. As long as you don't need a micro, I'd say to stick with your current reservation. Your 4 year old will love the pirate play area.

Thank you amy! The lady I booked with told me they were freeway facing, glad to know they aren't. And even if they are it sounds like I should be able to sleep through it. Also glad to know it is pretty safe, the closer this trip gets the more nervous I get about it. Its something I've talked about for a long time, but just decided to do last week and we leave SAT!!! Never had that fast a turn around on any vacation.

I will also chime in and say the Pavillion rooms are fine - there was one time we could hear a little freeway noise when we were in a room at the end of the building - but we just turned on the a/c and were fine (and I am light sleeper).

We too just returned from HoJo's yesterday and had a freeway facing Queen room. I was worried about the noise and it was a total NON issue. I did hear trucks the first night, but really didn't notice any freeway noise the next 3 nights.

Your DS will love Castaway Cove!

Have a fun trip!

The pavilion rooms don't back to the freeway BUT I did have problems with freeway noise when I was in Bldgs 3 & 5, I definitely heard the traffic. Bldgs 4 & 6 on the other hand, I heard nothing. The pavilion rooms are our favorites, our family of 4 stays in them all the time.

Thank you all that helps put my mind at ease. I'm glad the noise isn't terrible, especially with the room not facing the freeway. Is the cove heated? I see its open year round, but DS hates cold water.

I just realized that our trip overlaps with the dis divas  they are all at hojos, makes me feel a bit better that there are a lot of women staying there without their spouses. I guess I should get LGM for this trip!
