Should I change my 3rd floor Samoa request at the Poly?

I have a request for third-floor Samoa on my reservation. After someone's post (I can't remember the name), I'm having doubts. THey had a third-floor room at Samoa and said the TV was small, there was no refrigerator (they had to request this twice) and the mousekeeping was the unfriendliest they've encountered at the Poly. Does anyone have anymore experience with Samoa? Should I change my request to a different longhouse? (I have 3 DDs 8,5, and 2 so thought the proximity to the Volcano pool would be good). :confused3

If you think you'd like to be close to the volcano pool, keep your request as is.
The TVs are small in all the rooms so changing your request won't help that, and the fridge isn't automatically in your room. You just have to call the front desk to get it delivered. No biggie.

As far as the unfriendly mousekeeping... I dunno. You don't have to be best pals with them, do you?

We were last in Samoa three weeks ago and had a great stay.

There was no refrigerator when we checked in. I called and requested one as I've always done and we did receive one. We need it for insulin but also enjoy keeping beverages cool in it.

The TVs are the same size in all Polynesian rooms. They are not large and apparently some of the moderate resorts have larger ones. The TVs are plenty big enough for us however. ;)

Our room was spotless and service was as delightful as always. I called for extra hangers as well as the refrigerator. They didn't have as many as I asked for (we checked in at the end of President's week and the resort was at 100%). The CM was apologetic and offered to check for some more. I told him I would leave a note for our housekeeper in the am if we couldn't make do. I just hung a couple of things together on a few hangers....no worries.

Samoa is a great location and if you are lucky enough to get it, enjoy. It is a smaller longhouse though so don't worry if you end up somewhere else. I truly believe that each longhouse at the Polynesian has its own advantages.

Have a great stay. :sunny:

Off topic, but is anyone else feeling sorry for the CMs at the deluxe reports who have everyone expecting refrigerators already in the rooms because internet sites are claiming they do?

As stated above the TV are the same in all the rooms (19") and seemed big enough for the few times I watched it. THe TVs will be 27" when they redo the rooms but that will not happen till the middle of this year and only to a few longhouses at a time.

Samoa gets very good reviews from those who stay in it most of the time.

Okay thanks for the input! I won't change a thing. And no, I don't have to be buddies with the mousekeeping LOL. :rotfl: I'm sure they'll find a refrigerator for me since I have to have one for my eye drops. I'm just freaking out since it's only a month to go, I think. Now, I'll relax...or try to. :teeth:

Samoa 1st Floor. We loved it. Walk right out the door into the Volcano Pool.

The Robbs

Stayed in samoa third floor pool side and personaly think its the best..So have a great time and no worries.

We stayed in Samoa, third floor, facing the volcano pool. We loved the convenience to the pool and Captain Cook's. :flower:

Enjoy the magic of the Polynesian princess:

If you do, you'll wind up at Hawaii Lagoon Concierge like we did, Samoa looks like a great location.

Have fun

Only a month to go! How are you sleeping!? I had "Poly nightmares" in the weeks leading up to my trip. Funny, eh?

You're going to have a great time. The Poly is a wonderful resort - I wish I was there now!

Tabetha, I know! I'm starting to really wig out about things. I'm going into hypermode. I don't know if my family can take it!! It's so close though to ME, not to DH yet.

Also stayed first floor , Volcano pool side of Samoa (1618 I think?)

Loved it!!!! It was like having your own pool; forget something, no prob go right to your sliding glass doors and grab it. You have a nice patio too.

The first floor sounds great being able to just walk out, but don't you have more of a chance for noise from the people above you?

Last trip I surprised my family with Lagoon View Concierge. Thought what could top a view of the castle? We added a night at the end of our stay and had to move to 3rd floor Samoa (poolside). The minute my kids walked into this room they thought it was AWESOME! Next time I may just choose to save the money since I now know what is important to them. :rotfl:

Loved Samoa. Stayed there in November and requested it again for July trip. We were on the first floor facing the quite pool. Loved the view and the location.
