My son birthday is 2 days before we leave. He will turn 7. Do you think I should have a birthday celebration at WDW and tell the CM at check in etal?
Or should I just leave things be (we've already celebrated w/ my parents on labor day, today we had a "kid" party and we will be celebrating w/ a special dinner and cupcakes on Tuesday-his actual birthday). Plus, he will be bringing in special cookies to school on Tuesday.
They (he and his siblings) have no idea that we're going on this trip btw.
What do you think? Too much?

what- no one has an opinion???
lol

Celebrate it. When you will be at WDW so close to his birthday again? You may not get anything, but get the birthday buttons at MK, Epcot, AK. The Disney Studio buttons were the same as MK. When he wears the buttons, everyone will wish him a happy birthday.

DD will be 1 on 9/30, we will be in the world first week in Oct, and will celebrate then (as well as small party with family and friends at home). Will do birthday buttons, birthday PS, etc. She is too young to get confused on which day is her actual birthday. Sounds like your DS is old enough to know the celebration in WDW will be "extra", as well as "extra special". I don't think it will scar him for life, and it will make his memory of the trip that much nicer! BTW, we are going to be celebrating DD's birthday all week at WDW. It's not a Disney crime, is it? Have lots of fun!!!! Happy Birthday!!!!

Frannn - Happy birthday to your DD

We too will be celebrating DS birthday on 9/30. We are arriving 9/26 - 10/04. Already have PS Chef Mickey's on 9/30.

Would like to know where to get the birthday buttons at the parks. Keep telling DS that he will have to wear a special hat or shirt as well at the buttons. He can't wait.

My DS is used to celebrating his birthday for a week. Usually we have two parties (one for family and one for his friends), cupcakes at school, daycare and also at his church group. I never got birthday parties as a kid so I tend to go overboard for mine. My suggestion is just to celebrate it! We are celebrating this year but my DS's birthday falls during our trip.

As for where to get the buttons, from what I understand, you get the one at MK at the huge building on Main Street (o.k., it's 11:30 and my brain isn't working properly). At Epcot, MGM and Animal Kingdom I think you get them at Guest Relations. We will be there in November so I guess we will find out for sure then. My birthday is the first day of our trip and we aren't going to any parks that day. Am I going to stop at MK and get my pin? You betcha!

Get the MK pin at City Hall - to your left as you go under the train station.
