Should I cancel Mama Melrose?

I have a Fantasmic package booked at Mama Melrose on 6th November as we want to watch Fantasmic that evening at 6.30pm. Our lunch is booked for 1.20pm. Looking at the menu again, I think it is a little uninspiring and I prefer the look of Chefs de France.

So here is the question: would I get resonable seats without the Fantasmic package or is it a bit of a gamble at this time of year? DD will have a GAC - is there a separate seating area for GAC holders? Any opinions or reviews will be appreciated.:goodvibes

You will easily get decent seats if you are prepared to queue for an hour. I won't stand in an hours line for anything so get the dinner package, but the seats aren't that good really either. You can of course sit anywhere there is a space once you get in there.

Do you still have to queue if you have the Fantasmic package? I don't mind standing in a queue but DD can't. I would be annoyed if we had the Fantasmic package and then found that it wasn't too busy and we would have got reasonable seats anyway.

the last time we used the package, they suggested getting there 30 minutes before the start of the show. The queue for the main seating started about 1.5 hours before!
the reserved seats were slightly off to the right side of the stage but we had a good view but obviously they sell a lot of dinner packages aswell so you still have to get there a little earlier than the start to get a good seat in the reserved section.

Prefer Brown Derby from a food point of view. Although didn’t have a bad meal at MM! Both end up being very busy restaurants.

I'd keep the package otherwise you could be stuck in the theatre for a good 90 minutes to get good seats and then queuing before too.

We only see F! now if we around when there is a second showing and its not too busy. When we want to see it for certain we book a package.

Have to saw we much prefer MM to chefs - awful service and food at Chefs and we won't be back. Never had a bad meal at MM and eaten here probably 6 times now.

HS is showing as very quiet that day on touring plans only 1.9/10 (as quiet as it gets)

There is a wheelchair seating area, assume that is where you would be seated with a GAC card.

I think your best best to avoid waiting is to keep the fantastic package.

If you did want to do chef de france, lunch there seems to get great reviews and is very reasonably priced if you are paying not using TS credits.

Right - thanks to everyone.:goodvibes I will keep the ADR.:thumbsup2

we did this last year. Firstly the food at MM was much better than the average review makes out. Secondly the line was finished as full one hour before the show - this was in october

We usually go in September and we've always found the Fantasmic! dinner package to be a bit useless, to be honest. Last year, we got there around 10 minutes prior to the start time and the designated dinner package area was full so we had to stand. We had booked it again for October but I cancelled it a few weeks ago.
