Should I call Disney to check for pin?

I usually ask about a specific date and resort availability and then aske the CM if they tell me if I have a discount code that would work for this time frame and resort. Usually if I do it this way they are really happy to help. If I call and just ask if I have a discount code that's when I usually get CM's who are less helpful.

What about if you already have a trip booked? Is it okay to still call and ask regularly? I don't want anyone to get angry, but I really don't want to miss anything.
