Should I buy tickets?

I am one of the lucky ones who won tickets to the Carsland preview on June 14. I will be driving from the Bay Area on the 13th with DD9 and DS8. We'll get to Anaheim around 4. I have reservations at Sheraton Park for 2 nights. I'll drive home on the 15th.

Should I buy 2-day park hoppers so we can go to the parks on the 13th and 15th? We were at DL/DCA the Tuesday and Wednesday before Thanksgiving and my sister and I are thinking about a WDW trip in June 2013.

I can't imagine driving from the Bay Area for only one day in the parks. I'd get the two day passes if it were me.

We are trying to figure out the same thing. We are thinking of just getting a one day ticket and going to DL on the 15th and the preview on the 14th. My mom lives a couple of hours north and we will just go visit for fathers day. My only fears is will we even be able to get to DL gates without waiting in security line for hours with all the opening day folks.

I wouldn't... If I were you, I would mail me your ticket and I will suffer through it all in your place :roll eyes: :upsidedow

Seriously, I would probably get the 2-day ticket... to go all the way there and turn around and just come home seems like a wasted opportunity. Bite the bullet, go easy on meals and other expenses, but splurge on tickets since you are right there and you spent the $$ to make the trip.

FYI, I personally would try to do DL the day before the opening rather than after... the parks may just packing out with people flocking there to see the new features..

I would buy the parkhoppers if you can afford it, the more days I get in the park the happier I am!!!

To those of you saying that you can't imagine driving down for only one day in the park, I have a crazy friend who does what she calls a 666. Drives from bay area to DLR for 6 hours, is in the park for 6 hours and drives back to the bay area for 6 hours...COMPLETE NUTS, but that is real Disney love right there :-) I admire it.:thumbsup2

I did that a few times, well the family did. :) It was tiring but it was fun. We usually did stay overnight tho, we would leave late Saturday night, drive to Anaheim, check in around midnight, get up at 8 and go to the parks, be there until 2 or 3 on Sunday and drive home.

Thanks for the replies. I was feeling guilty because I am leaving DD5 at home with DH since she does not like rides. However, my SIL needs me to take care of her son on Friday, so I have an excuse to extend my trip for a night. We can go to the parks for the whole day on Friday.
