Just wanted to know if it was cheaper to buy tickets online or just at the gate?

Not only is it cheaper, it is more convenient too. You just print out the e-ticket and take it to the main turnstiles, and they give you a ticket in exchange. No lining up at the ticket counter required.

I was wondering what they did with the e-tickets. Thank you.

We are trying to go on November 12th which is the first day of the Christmas season but won't arrive till at least 3pm.....is it still okay to buy online? The park wouldn't be at capacity would it? If I bought tickets and it was how would that work?

it's wayyy easier to buy online. you just print out your e-ticket, and get in line at the gates. when you get to the CM who scans your ticket, they will then take your e-ticket and give you an actual park ticket which then you will use for the rest of the time you are there. I am not sure on price, either its the same or a bit cheaper online, but it sure is more convenient than waiting in line at the ticket booth at the parks.

As far as if you buy online and park is at capacity.....the tickets are usually good for a looong time, like I just bought e-tickets in October 2010 and printed on there it said they were good until like September 2011....so you just had to use the ticket by then.
does that make sense? is this what you were asking?

Yes that's exactly what I was looking for. Sorry to Original poster because I didn't mean to hijack the thread but thought it pertained to the same message.

Hate to hijack again, but is there a reliable trustworthy place to get DL park passes like Undercovertourist is to WDW?

Thanks

Does it work the same way for purchasing annual passes?

It is the first time that we buy the tickets directly in the Disneyland web page :surfweb:, it is surprising  what we save around $35 up to $45usd EACH TICKET (2 adults and 1 child of 4años) :woohoo: ; also as someone wrote already, you avoid lines to buy tickets :scared:. Therefore already never again we will buy the tickets in the park.

Yes.

The park ticket that the CM at the turnstyle will give you will say what kind of ticket it is. I think it's printed when they scan the e-ticket. You just take that ticket to the AP processing center and exchange if for the AP at some point during the day.

I haven't used them yet, but arestravel is supposed to be a reputable reseller. I'm planning on using them for our January trip - just waiting a bit to see if any free-day deals pop up before then...

I just bought my tickets at our local Disney Store for the same price as Arestravel (so not as cheap as getawaytoday, but still cheaper then gate prices) and my reason for that was 1, they are hard plastic like a gift card and ready to be used right away without standing in another line. Hth! :goodvibes

I assume you bought them in Oregon where there is no sales tax?

We had a voucher that I exchanged for 6 tickets at the ticket counter....

How do you get an eticket?

I don't think there is any sales tax on the park tickets in the Disney Stores in any state. We bought some here in WA and they were the same price as the ones on the DLR website. I asked them about this at the store and they said there is no sales tax on park tickets.....It's the same as buying them in advance at the DLR website. With the price of tickets, and some people spending several hundreds of dollars, it doesn't seem that it would be feasible for the stores to offer them (in states where there is a sales tax) or for people to buy them there (as you mentioned) if there was a tax added on. :)
