My wife and I are staying on property and visiting the parks for 4 days. I am interested in purchasing Memory Maker but hesitant at the same time. Before they announced you can take off your mask for outside pictures I would of never of bought it, however, because of the new rule I'm highly considering it. Is it worth it to buy it just for the two of us?

I always get Memory Maker. We don’t even stop at every photographer, but we still get hundreds of photos from each trip, including the ride photos.

Thanks for the reply. My wife and I always love the ride photos so that is definitely what is intriguing about memory maker. I also think it will provide pictures that we normally wouldn't stop and take and really give us memories to cherish for a long time.

I haven't used mine yet so I don't have any "real" advice, but I just bought it for my first trip at the end of May. It is just my wife and I too, and our thought process was we always hate asking people to take our pictures even pre covid so it made the decision an easy one. Plus all the unique photo ops and ride photos are a bonus. Over 4 days the cost spreads out too, I think of it more as $40 a day (if you buy it at a discount before your trip) to never have to worry about how we are going to get our pictures taken. In the grand scheme of Disney expenses I would say that's not bad haha.

Yes! I always love MM but for two people I extra love having it so that we can be in pictures together and we don't have to ask people to take pics of us with our cells (which right now people probably don't want to do anyway). I say go for it!

It's much better when you think about it only be $40 a day. Considering ride photos are like $30 it really is a bargain

I saw on 1 travel site or blog they recommended buying it late, as SUPPOSEDLY it complicated changes to your reservations some how.

I too am excited about the unmasking for pictures so will be buying the package. Any reliable sources for photog locations? Did see complaint of fewer photogs on the payroll. But still in so I can enjoy with my twins!

I just added it to my reservation and I didn't have any issues.

Also if you think how much it costs to have professional pictures taken, the cost is a bit easier to swallow. While not every photographer is necessarily on a professional level, some are. We had one seriously skilled photographer at the Galaxy Edge wall. And where else are you going to get background scenery like the variety at WDW?

We always end up getting 10-20 really awesome shots. Some day we’re going to be old and the kids grown. It’s hard to put a price on being able to look back at those memories.

I added it a few weeks ago and had no issues. It's cheaper if you buy it ahead as well!

We added it when the mask policy was still in place. I wouldn’t want to miss out on memories because of a mask. We get it every time we go. Love the ride photos and not having to take out our phones to take photos all the time.

We bought it, because we decided if you wanted to buy one or two professionally taken pictures, then you are spending X dollars and you might have just spent Y dollars and received all of them. Maybe that is a bad cost / benefit analysis, but that's how my DW and I justified purchasing the MM.

Thanks for this post. In the same boat, going back and forth, should we? shouldn't we? Only difference is we have 2 kids, and I'm a sucker for making sure we have the memories in photographs to look back on (and to occasionally remind them how lucky they were!). I was hesitant because no character meet and greets, character dining etc. I feel like I'm leaning more towards getting it though. I just hope there are enough CMs around taking photos. On one trip there was an abundance, and on another they were hard to come by (both trips pre-COVID). But I do feel like if lines are long and we want a break from hanging in line and going on rides it could be an alternative "to do" activity, to go find places to take photos and magic shots!

We have purchased MM every trip both at DL and WDW and have never regretted it a bit. Our family pics over the years are on constant loop with our digital frame and many of them are printed and framed as well. Some of the photographers do grab exceptional pics and it is nice to have somebody else with vast park experience line up the perfect shots. The convenience alone is well worth every penny!

Thank you for this thread, it just saved me $30! I just went to purchase the $169 Memory Maker for our June trip (June 18th-20th), and because I'd purchased it for our just-completed March trip, turns out the previous purchase is good through June 18th so I only have to buy two 1-day passes for June 19th-20th at $69 each day! W00t!
