Okay I know everyone is sick of this question by now but here is my issue. I have searched historical AP rates for the dates I am going and there has been one every year, I just don't know what it has been and can't find it anywhere :confused3. Also if I had an AP I would be able to buy the DDE instead of DDP which I am afraid will not pay for me and DS.

Besides...I have always wanted one :rotfl2:. Any excuse to feed my Disney addiction.

DDP would not work for my family either. I eat like a bird and I don't want to plan my trip around meals. And lord knows I don't want to plan what I'm gonna feel like eating 6 months out either!

But I love the idea of DDE. I say go for the AP if you think you'll get good use out of it!

We buy AP's and get at least two 10 day trips out of it each year. We have always saved $$$ on the room until Jan '08 when AAA rate turned out to be better than AP rate for a honeymoon suite at WL. We have the DDE card and the savings are basically what we would pay for a tip. So, if it will save you $$$ because of the number of days you will be in the parks during the year, I would highly recommend it. But, from what I can tell the days of huge room savings with AP rates are a thing of the past so if you are buying it for a great discount on a room, there is no guarantee. But who knows, with the state of our economy maybe the good discounts will come back. You can always book with an AP rate and then buy your AP before you check in. That way you will know exactly what the savings will be on your room.

We buy the seasonal annual pass since we are Florida residents. We live in the panhandle, about 7 hours away, so we put alot of thought into each trip. Buying the pass saves us money because we like to go down 3-4 times a year, plus, we LOVE the Disney Dining Experience. Our daughter is only 12, so to have the Dining Plan does not work for us. We will go to a nice restaurant and all she wants is a cheeseburger!!! The 20% off has always been cheaper for us than the DDP. For my family of three, we always budget $150 a day. We usually have one sit down dinner that includes alcoholic beverages and a light lunch or breakfast. We always come under budget. If we were to purchase the DDP, it would be $40 per person, plus the cost of the adult beverages.
