I've seen a lot of posts re: the AP

We are going May 2003. Want to stay at AKL for 9 nights. Is it worth it to buy an Ap to get a discount for 2 rooms.

Also, can I buy only one AP if there are 3 adults and 4 children in my party? Or do we all need AP's?

If only one is good, can I buy a child's AP and book the discount with that?

Sorry so many questions, but with this size group, I need all the discounts I can find?

Thanks!!!

For 9 days, definetly get an Annual Pass. I think I figured that we had to use ours 8 days to break even. To take advantage of an Annual Passholder room rate, the person who's name is on the reservation is supposed to be the passholder. And, since an adult (minimum check-in age is 18) must be registered, you'd have to have an Adult Annual Pass.

If you plan to be in one of the major parks 8 days or more, an AP is an economical choice just for park admission. If you plan to go to one of the waterparks and/or PI more than once or twice, that may not be true, however. You will have to do the math for your touring plans. Keep in mind that one AP allows for discounted admission to the waterparks, DQ and PI for the passholder and up to three guests. Here is a link that talks about when an AP is the best ticket choice:

You do not need to have an AP (or an AP voucher) in hand to book a room with the AP discount. For that reason, many people first book their room(s) and then purchase the AP. You do not automatically get a discounted room just because you have an AP. There must be discounted rooms available when you call.

Only one adult in your party must have an AP to book rooms with the AP discount. With one AP, you can book up to 3 rooms. There are many other discounts associated with the AP. Here is a link that lists them:

HTH.

Thanks California and Carol for your info.

I can't believe the rates I was quoted for AKL with an AP. Definitely worth doing especially since we are going for 10 days. And I have the DC to boot.

Thanks for all your info.
