Trying to decide if it will be worth the $100 for us.

Dining, will be myself, my husband and our 3 year old. We will be dining at

Shulas or Flying Fish
T-Rex
Counter Service at AK
Hollywood and Vine Character Breakfast
Ohanas
The Plaza (MK)

What do you think? Im guessing our trip wont be long enough to get our money's worth, but what do you think?

Well, I normally don't give advice to Gators.....but I'll make an exception. ;) (See my location)

If you'll be spending more than $500 at places that take TIW, then it would be worth it.

Also, remember TIW is good for a year....will you be returning to WDW again? Cause I can definitely see it saving you money over 2 trips, but I'm not sure about this one trip - I'd go check menus/prices and see.

They don't take TIW at T-REX, but all the other places you listed do.

Do as the PP said and figure out what you will spend at all those places and see if it is finacially beneficial for you to get the card.

Is the $100 price for Florida residents? the AP price is $75? We pay $75 but we're AP holders. Our break-even is at $375 and we easily hit that during a week. We really like TIW.

Yes, for non pass holding FL residents TiW is $100.

Unless you'll be returning in a year's time... then I'd say no.
Estimating here... but $100 for TIW, and save about $50 with it at a minimum I'm thinking with your planned meals. Depends if do really pricey entrees at the meals and if add drinks to meals - meaning wine, etc, then may get more savings, maybe $75 or so. But can't see you getting $100 in savings from it though with those few meals or coming out ahead with it.
If going back in the next year... then may be worth doing it.

Look at the menus and figure out what you'll be eating/spending, add in sodas and everything else to it... get yourself a grand total for everything and see what 20% off that comes to, if make back the $100 or not.
and yes, can't use it at TRex. I wish you could - we have it and use it for the days we don't have dining plan and hate paying full out of pocket for Trex.

Just add it up (minus T-rex) and see if it makes the cut.

And of course if you think you'll be going again in a year, well, one, buy the AP and get the TIW for a bit cheaper...and definitely get the card. :)

When doing the calculation don't forget that alcohol is included in the 20% discount you get with TIW. If you are accustom to having a drink with your meals its easy to get to the threshold. :drinking:

Here is a working example, using $100.00 as the original bill to make the math show up easily. Note this is for Table Service. At Counter Service there is no gratuity added.

100.00 - Original Menu Amount
*20.00 - Discount
*80.00 - Subtotal
*18.00 - Gratuity Added based on $100
**5.20 - Sales Tax on $80
103.20 - Final amount charged, takes into consideration discount, gratuity and tax.

Without TiW Discount (and still figuring 18% Gratuity)

100.00 - Original Menu Amount
*18.00 - Gratuity
**6.50 - Sales Tax on $100
124.50 - Total

$21.30 - Savings using TiW Card.

(Note - At Victoria and Albert's the added gratuity is 20% instead of 18%.)
* Ignore the asterisks; they are there only so the columns/numbers line up properly.

The target number for savings on the TiW card is about $500 spent (at qualifying locations obviously) to break even for FL Residents (it's about $375 for AP holders).

If you think you're going to spend ~$500 within a year, then it'll save you something, otherwise, it's not.
