Should I buy a point and shoot?

For our upcoming trip, I purchased MM.
I told my DH not to bothering bringing our DSLR camera.
I was thinking for any pics we take, we will just use our iPhone 6.
Now I'm wondering for better quality and to be able to zoom in, I should pick up a point and shoot. We used to have (before iPhones) Canon Elph's and loved them.
I don't want to spend more than $150 since I will only be using it for Disney.
Should I buy one knowing that we got MM and iPhones?
If so, Canon Elph or something else like a Nikon in the same price range?
Thanks!

The image quality won't be any better than the iPhone 6, but you would gain a bit of telephoto zoom range.
Plus, you wouldn't need to worry about draining your battery.

Personally, I'd stick to the phone over an Elph quality camera, for the easier image sharing, gps tagging, etc. But if you feel the zoom would give you value, it's a point in favor of the p&s.

Thanks! My DH said the same thing too! :)

I got really lucky last week in my search for a point & shoot camera. Was able to purchase a Panasonic LUMIX digital marked down from the $429 price for $149.00! :yay: I have a 60X optical zoom and many various features. I've been searching for a new P & S for about a month and was thrilled to find this for $149! :tink:

A 60x zoom is roughly the size of a DSLR. If I were to get one in that price range, I'd pick up a waterproof model because then at least it's not a Disney-only camera. :)

Please read and view a post i created on extra3rd.com. On page two. http://www.extra3rd.com/page/2/ titled which camera and lens should I take to Disney. It has comparison between 15 year old ps and to phones iPhone and Nokia and Olympus tough water proof ps camera all with photos to compare.
