What about having them wear pants for the plane ride? Then if you need them the rest of the week you have a pair but you don't have to take up room packing them. That's what we did when we went in May one year.
Leaving Fri morn - planning on wearing capri length workout pants on the plane. Leaving the house at 430am so it will still be cool. Once I land wont need to change into shorts since I'll be going on ME and wont have the luggage right away.
I did pack 2 pairs of jeans and another pair of capri length pants and about 4 pairs of shorts and yes its only 8days/7nights!
see ya there! have fun
We just got back - I only packed 2 pairs of pants for everyone, mostly shorts, and we ended up wearing pants most of the time. For 5/7 days, it was a bit cool -we wore pants and jackets. And for the other 2 days, we wore shorts in the afternoon, but when the sun went down around 7:30, it got a bit chilly as well.
Just checked Orlando weather for the next 10 days. Highs in the mid to upper 80's and the lowest temp they are forecasting is 60 in the evening. So, I guess it depends on how late you will be out, and how 60 feels to you. Right now, 60 would feel like a heatwave for us we have had some really cold weather the last couple weeks. I am going to only bring the long pants that we wear on the plane. My kids never complain of cold legs, as long as they have a sweatshirt or jacket to throw on. I figure I am good in capris.
I really like the pants that zip off and become shorts. The pant legs don't take much space in the back pack. It can be cool first thing in the morning, late at night, or at dinner if the A/C is working overtime. Better to be safe than sorry!
We just got back yesterday and it was kind of cool in the evenings. I only packed 1 pair for each kid and I ended up washing them a couple times, but we were always going somewhere in the evening like DTD.
At least 2 pair for everyone-you never know when you will have cool days this time of year. Easter morning I had to put winter dresses on my girls for church - it even sleeted in the am.
It's been in the mid 50s in Tampa the past couple of mornings, both this week and last. I think it's been running Monday-Wednesday chilly ... then warm through Friday. Saturday and Sunday raining. Chilly Monday. I don't know if it's the same for Otown, but it's only an hour away, so it won't be too different.
Good luck, enjoy your trip. Make your huby carry the bags, or the kids do the washing.
