Should I bring or rent a double stroller?

We've got a five year old and two year old twins. I have both a single and double City Mini and a travel bag for the single. No travel bag for the double.

I'm considering renting a double and bringing the single, but can't decide. We've got direct flights. Our home airport isn't big. The plan is for DH to drop me and two kids off at the terminal; I'll get the bags checked; he'll take the car to parking with one kid; and then take the shuttle to the terminal.

Would you mess with bringing the double?

And would you luggage check or gate check the single? (We rarely, if ever, use the single so I'm not worried if it gets dinged up.)

I'd recommend bringing the double. Though you might be fine in your home airport, you'll be grateful for it when you land in MCO.

For what it's worth, I've gone back and forth on bringing vs renting on my upcoming trip. I finally decided just to bring a stroller -- it's convenient in the airport, and United will gate check it for free. Plus, the $70 I save by not renting goes back in the fun pot.
