Hi All,

Just received email from Disney saying they will be sending special offers to me via email while on vacation. I wasn't planning on bringing my laptop - can't see paying ten dollars a day for internet access and figure we will be too tired to be on the computer but am wondering what special offers I will be missing out on. Anyone know? Also, I saw the resorts have computers to rent - anyone know the cost?

Leaving in 4 days!:rotfl:

Thanks!

We were just there last week. When I checked in they gave me a gift card with $5.00 loaded on it and with info. about checking email for other free offers. I didn't want to spend the money on the internet service, but my friend did so I checked my email on his computer. I checked and the offer was that if I took the card to Downtown Disney and loaded $100 more on it they would give me $20 more. I just didn't think it was worth it. First of all, if I had of gone to DD I would have spent more than the free $20. Leave your laptop at home and I bet you will save money. LOL

You can also check for free wi fi.. around here anyway all the McD's are free wifi now, I'd assume it's all McD's and there's that one that's very close to Disney... if you have a few min to stop there anyway! ... I'm also assuming you'll have a car I guess, we always drive so we have a car to get around:goodvibes Don't know what may be around if you don't, so maybe I'm not help

My parents are checking out of Pop Century this morning and I have been checking their email for them. Yesterday, they received a bounceback offer via email. It turns out that it was the same offer present in their room but I didn't know that they had one in their room. They also had received an email for the photopass CD for $119. Not that good of emails and I don't think that they are worth bringing the laptop and paying for internet service. Does your chell phone have internet capability?

I would give a friend my email password. Ask them to call and leave you a message with promotion code. You can always change the password when you get home.

Most phones have some sort of internet-readiness. I have one of the now-uncool (haha) flip phones and I can check my hotmail on it, and it's not expensive at all if you're just doing a quick email check. Might be worth a shot!

I'm bringing the laptop so I can double check touring plans and get suggestions for things while away, like nearby restaurants. Wish I could easily bring a printer for restaurant coupons deals, lol

If you just need a quick check of email, then why not use dialup. We've used it in the past and it's quick enough to check email, do Southwest check in and even peruse the DIS. You need to download either Juno or Netzero before you leave home, but it works fine. Local calls are free so no charge.

Thanks everyone. We already took advantage of the Photpass offer - got it for $100 woo hoo! I think I will be leaving laptop home so I don't have one more thing to lug, don't have to waste time figuring dial up or money with wi-fi. We also won't have a car so going to MickeyD's is not an option. Thanks for letting me know I am not missing out on any super offers!

If your bringing a camera its worth bringing the laptop for deloading pictures everyday. You could also look into phone tethering depending on the cell phone you have for free internet.
