Hi guys,

I'm travelling Oct-Nov 2011.

Been looking at flights to Miami as the prices are far cheaper than flying into Orlando.:surfweb:

Today I have found flights with both Virgin and BA at £460. I am really not sure what to do?:rolleyes1

If I book with Virgin I can use some airmiles which will reduce the cost of the flight to £430, but Virgin don't have unlimited hand luggage weight allowance.

BA do however and I would also get to Miami an hour earlier as their flight leaves earlier. I am planning on driving to Naples for 2 nights so this could be helpful. Plus I would fly from Terminal 5, heathrow. I haven't flown from this terminal before and I'm curious to see what it's like.

If I book with Virgin I can use the £30 I would be saving to buy another bag though.

What should I do, please help!!:confused3

Hmm, have you flown with both before? Pick the airline you prefer if so, as they both have pro's and con's that cancel each other out. I just flew with BA and wasn't terribly impressed sop I'm going with Virgin for November.

Well I have only flown with BA to Toronto and Paris, and I have used virgin every time I have flown to Florida.

May I ask why your experience with BA was not too good?

as the previous poster said, the money issues seem to cancel out, so you should go with the airline you prefer...or terminal you prefer or whatever..

i've flown BA and flew them just recently and found them to be fine....
however, i've never flown Virgin, so i can't compare the two...

are either of them threatened with a strike during the time you'll be travelling?

also, have you checked what the aircraft will be?
this doesn't matter to some people, but i do have a preference (747), so this can sometimes be a dealbreaker for me....

by the way, i found the same rate for nonstops from heathrow to miami on delta and american (though it was more difficult to get that rate on american)

I didn't think they were terrible, just that nothing about the flight or service was particularly great. The food was absolutely revolting! I thought Monarch was bad at the time, but they were better than BA imo.
