Should I book now or wait?

We're planning our trip for Thanksgiving 2008, and now my 500 day window is finally open where I can book. But, its only another month or so til the packages come out. So, I'm wondering if I should book the room only now, or just wait for the packages. Not sure if it makes a difference, but we're planning on staying at the Grand Floridian. Thanks.

If I were looking at a Thanksgiving trip for 2008 and wanted a package, I'd just wait another couple weeks. If you have a specific room category that you absolutely need, then you might want to book the room-only now, just for your piece of mind, otherwise I wouldn't worry this far out.

From what other people have told me you should be ok to wait. Unless I heard wrong....

I am waiting to book Christmas 2008 because my husband doesn't get his schedule until the end of this year I don't know what day we can leave. I want to leave before Christmas Eve if possible. So I am hoping I will be ok with waiting on that until the end of the year.

We are planning a 2008 Thanksgiving trip also! I am going to just wait unless more people come here and mention we should go ahead and book a room only. now and then change it when the packages come out.

I say, why not just book the room now, so you get what you want. Then when the rates come out you can make it a package if you want.

I just booked a rooms only stay for early December. Do they usually offer X-mas packages that I should keep an eye open for? I can always cancel the room I previously booked.
