Should I be concerned?

We (myself and DS 5) are booked for POP 4/1-4/4.

Went to modify our ressie to add DDP and 4 day hopper's (got really great ADR's was not expecting to do so)

The cm told me that the POP was completly booked for the days that I was going to be there and there was no way for me to add the DDPand tickets unless I did a package which he could not do because the POP was booked. I booked on a bounce back code room only and when I made the ressie I was told to add tickets and dining in the future (while keeping the 30% room rate) would not be a problem.

I am so confused does anyone have any advise?

Also What's up with the POP being completly booked? I thought this was a Wondeful Week of Disney? Should I skip POP altogether?

A lot of our schools have Spring Break then, so it is possible the resort is totally booked. Probably is more like it.

Did you ask about switching to a different value resort? I know it is hard to switch when your heart is set on a certain one, but it might be worth it.

Call back and talk to someone else, I have been told adding dining after a reservation is made is not a problem. Sometimes CMs are misinformed. Call back as if it is the first time and try to add dining!

Perhaps you can add your tickets and dining once you get to the resort?

I think that the problem may be that the original poster has a room only booked and now to add the dining, she must add her tickets, and she will now have a package ..which she did not have before.

The cast member can force the system to take your room and make it into a package. I am not sure if they can do that with a bounceback offer.

We had room only reservations over a year in advance (CSR) since that's all we were allowed to do at the time. We then changed over to a package with no problem once the new rates came out. Not sure why it's a problem for you unless you're trying to add without tickets.

The CM can override the system and make it go through. I'm thinking it was the CM, call and get a second opinion. Good luck!

If I were you, try calling back! Keep trying. Many people cancel their reservations... remember, there's nearly 3,000 rooms in Pop!

That's correct- she'd be able to switch to a package, but she'd definitely lose the discount. You can't apply room-only discount codes to packages.

I am sure the DDP can only be booked with tickets and if the room is at rack rate, it is not allowed on a room that is at a discount price ie PIN or bounce back.

Claire ;)

With the new DDP, i don't think switching to a package is worth it. Your savings on the DDP will be nowhere near the 30% you saved on the room. I would just pay out of pocket for the ADRs and tickets. Keep the room only and the discount.

Just to correct misinformation in this thread ---

Yes, you can add DDP to rooms booked at discount codes. We're booked with a 40% discount due to a PIN code we received, and whenever I speak with a CM about the reservation, I'm encouraged to add DDP and tickets to make it a package. In other words, the 40% discount is good for (i) a room-only reservation or (ii) for a package with room, DDP and at least a one-day ticket. If you buy the package, I believe the 40% is calculated on the room rate and then DDP and tickets are tacked on, but I haven't priced it out yet to see if that's the calculation.

What WDW doesn't permit is free dining with a code discount. To get free dining (if and when offered), to date WDW has required that a room be booked at rack rate.

We are staying ASMu March 14-21 and it is totally booked up. When I called to change our reservation to a package the cm told me that in order for her to change it she would have to overide the system and make a completely new reservation as a package, then cancel the existing room only reservation. It can be done just try back and maybe another cm will be able to help you.:thumbsup2

I've learned that a lot of the CM's are "on a different page" (as my mom says). I would call back and get someone else for sure. Or if all else fails, just as for a supervisor.

I believe the package option has a lot to do with your code as well. If your code was "room only" you could be out of luck. If your code was valid for both room only and package, I'd definately call back and try again.

I know that week we have spring break and it seems to be a pretty popular week in the South for it.
