Should I be concerned about Animal Kingdom reaching capacity on July 4?

I have dining reservations and fast passes for Animal Kingdom the evening of July 4th. My plan was to go to Magic Kingdom in the morning, take a dip in the pool, and then saunter over to Animal Kingdom late afternoon. Is this wise, or should I get there ASAP if I want to make sure I am there to take part in the new nighttime offerings? If it does reach capacity does having an ADR give me priority?

Having an ADR and FP+ and also hopping from another park can all give you an advantage if a park does begin to phase close. If you're an onsite guest, that also gives you another advantage. I wouldn't be concerned if I were you. DAK holds a lot of people anyhow.

Although AK now has night shows, they won't have fireworks. Special fireworks shows are the main draws for large July 4th crowds

No. The vast majority of the people will be split between HS, MK, and Epcot.

I purposely picked AK for the 4th in hopes that it would be less crowded because it doesn't have fireworks. My kids don't care about fireworks and I know how crowded July is already. I'm hoping my bet pays off.

I dont see AK reaching any type of phased closure on any holiday. Most will be at MK and Epcot for the 4th night time activities. You'll be fine heading to AK at anytime.

And being that you have fast passes already for July 4th, that means you're staying on site. Theres 4 stages of closure, even if it hits the first 3, you'll still be able to get in. AP's and on site guests can get in to any park experiencing phased closures up until it hits stage 4 which means no one is allowed in. And for a park to hit that it's VERY rare anytime of the year.
