Should I ask to switch resorts?

I am getting a little worried about our resort selection. We are staying at SSR (2 bedroom villa) the last week of October. I have rented points from a very nice DVC member. Should I ask her to see if another resort has availability during those dates? My only two concerns really are bus issues from SSR to the parks, and the lack of being immersed in "Disney". I am traveling with my DH, DS (age 2), and elderly parents (my mother suffers from dimentia). I am thinking that another resort (with 2 bedroom availability) might be better for ease of travel and fun for my son & his Pop-Pop(my Dad is big on Disney!)...... Thoughts anyone? Thanks so much!

Hi there!

I think you made a great choice with SSR...we love staying there! You totally get the Disney feel when you stay there and the bus service is excellent. There is so much to look at and do...being close to DD is great too. However, if you are looking to be closer to the parks, you might want to try the Boardwalk or Beach Club Villas...EPCOT and the Disney Studios are within walking or boating distance. Whichever you choose, you will have a great time :)

You could ask to try to change, but it is very likely that the Epcot DVC resorts will be full at the time because of the Food & Wine fest. Other choices would be VWL, close to MK but bus to everywhere else or AKV which is beautiful but bus to everywhere. I love SSR and can honestly say that I've had the same bus issues at SSR as I have at the other resorts.

Good luck with your decision and hope you have a great trip :goodvibes

btw, I would recommend having ID for your mother (bracelet, necklace, in clothing-with your cell phone #) just in case she "wanders" away. A place as big and crowded as Disney could cause some confusion.

Thanks to you guys for responding! I feel good about SSR now. I think we will jsut stay were we are! I know that we have a dedicated 2 bedroom, which is great! So, I will not stir the pot so to speak. I know we will have a great time. Oh - I am putting tags on mom and my DS! Again - thanks for the tips!:)
