I need to add more points but I am torn on where I should do them. We have BWV (my favorite) and BCV (the kids love). I was thinking of adding some points the BCV or doing the 110 at AKL (which would mean I'd sell the BCV, I do not want 3 seperate contracts). I heard the new pool at AKL was going to surpass the BCV, this way I can talk the kids into it.

What does everyone else think?? We are heading down on Friday so I thought I'd meet with my guide but wants some DIS input first.

Thanks,

I suggest that you keep what you have and add the Animal Kingdom Lodge. I have seen the rooms and they are great. Having three different properties will give you the chance to make a reservation eleven months out at any of them. Be sure to get the same use year that you have on your other contracts. This makes calculating your points easier and the maintenance fees will all come out of the same account at the same time. If you are trying to get a reservation during a popular time it will be great to have three choices. I own BWV and BCV and it works great.

I haven't heard that AKV's pool will surpass BCV's. I think SAB will still be the best!

We've done the add ons with a large family vacation in mind every year. We're the DGP's and we want to see our DS's their families and others and WDW is a great place to do that! We don't have enough points to get all of the villas at 11 months out, but I can get the "main" 2 bedroom, or GV booked then, maybe a studio too, and hope to move others at 7 months. So far it's worked. We own at BWV, VWL, VB, AKV and BCV.

It's obviously a very personal decision based upon your preferences. Based on my preferences, and if I were in your shoes, I would add-on at AKV and not sell the BCV.

I agree! We own at AKV, BCV and SSR and love the flexibility of having 3
11-month windows.

From the looks of AKV when its complete, the water/recreation section will indeed be a great play area for kids. I don't know if it is accurate to state that it will surpass SAB, but I have a feeling kids will love it as they love all pools.

More important...you are talking about a 35-50 year decision. Why base it on the pools and your kids who will all too soon grow older? Pick the resort you like best.

If you want to extend the life of your DVC, go ahead and sell BCV and buy AKV. I won't suggest an add-on since you've already stated that you don't want 3 contracts.

On the other hand, if you think you will like BCV more over the long run, then add on there.

Personally, I'd probably buy AKV since you would still own an EPCOT area resort at BWV. That way you'd have more variety in your vacations.

Good luck! :)

We own 3 as well, OKW, BWV & BCV. It works out fine. The 35 vs 50 year contract means little to us since in 35 years we'll be in our 80's. AK is great with the animals, resturants and overall theme, but you can't walk to any parks from AK. I'd keep what you have, you'll miss stormalong bay and the cost to sell, then buy has to be a losing proposition. Book AKV at 7 months.

And remember, when the kids grow up you'll be empty nesters.....where do you want to stay.
