Should have walked the reservation

I know some don't like the RCI trades, but they get flex to many DVCers who don't want to go to DVC every year and who don't want to rent out their points. I own other timeshares and feel that DVC is the fairest one. Some trades are hard/impossible. We bought DVC_HHI just to have 11 month advantage--as we could only get 1 or 2 nights booking at 7 months. For OP, 2014 spring break at HHI is VERY popular as it is later in April and the weather is warmer. So, I think it got more bookings than earlier Easter breaks in prior years--when others were able to get it at 7 months.
I also believe that each DVC is audited each year. DVC is allowed to deposit excess weeks that are not related to trading out. These are called "Developer weeks." For, ex., if they have extra AKV that have not been sold out, they can deposit the extra weeks with RCI, or they could rent them out for cash.

really?..i don't think so! it is very bold of you to project my
knowledge base,,,, plez take your claim a lil' further and explain
how you know me and that dvc is not adding to the "kiddie"
based on my presentation. do it professionally & add your
credits & background -things like being a dvc or rci
owner..or both, how many dvc points, & so forth. prove
to me & i will listen. oh, do you post here under another
name & trying to avoid discovery, secondary to coming
out of the blue.

this is a business. i don't take anything personal , nor
do i used my feelings to make my claims....i speak from
experiences, reading here, and my professional exchanges
going to the ssr office.

if all you can do is verbalized an attack my "person", & value system,
then don't bother ...waste of time. which is why some of the
professional timeshares persons avoid getting into the "stew".
see?.......i don't mind, per sez...but they never presented
factual info that made their points. right away, that is revealing
their own interests --& hiding.

i just add this lil' request ahead of your response....if what
you know has any merit...then why doesn't dvc published
this info so we "know" what is going on behind the scenes.

also as a reference , did you happened to read...the thread
titled "concerned".....it threads like that , really makes me
pay attention.....i even made a copy. what i noticed---how
so many quickly recognized that the renter was thru rci
trade in.....even the op eventually made the same deduction
~witch~ ( well it's oct.) i really think was his real purpose
for posting. now to add my observations to the mix, if
laymen can easily "see" the "said" renter is breaking the
rules..why isn't dvc seeing the same thing ...& better
yet, canceling it?!

so please!~ present factual data that trumps mine. things
like where can any owner go an account that all trading
matches up those going out for ex.., as for rci trading,
i can't figure out a single benefit to ever used a single
blt point that gives the same return. if dvc management
were neutral then i think they would resolved any
other timeshares connection & would have much better/
real life "selling points" than the "fake "promises they
are using now. ( fake--in that the rci relationship does
not help dvc owners...., by those owning both here,
stating they never , ever used their "valuable "dvc points
to trade out...only to used their rci timeshares to trade
in ....frequently:....see , how clear the they are?

again if your just a dvc owner , i think we need more changes
& restrictions on those running our units so we're not be
taken advantage of. just recently i posted on the free
laundry thread. we trust dvc to protect our interests,
but are they---raising our dues to cover guests that are
not entitled is wrong on many levels. oh, i don't want dvc to
"tell" me that they have members' best interests...instead
i prefer them to demonstrate it by documentation.

I need some more info on walking the reservation. Does it have to be done over the phone? Do you need to cancel the first reservation before making the second?

I want to get AKV CL for our 30th anniversary trip and think this might be the way to do it.

TIA

I love reading people's user name choice and their personal descriptions beneath. I need to go back a little bit and reread.

At first I thought "grr" at him, because his decision/feelings have messed with YOUR vacation. But then I realized that DH and I both sort of live our lives in that way anyway. When we push to make something happen, it has yet to work out well for us. If we try to just let things come to us it works out better. :)
WHY didn't my parents teach this?!?! Maybe they never figured it out. It took decades to realize this "coincidence" was not just that. Now my largest task, in a world mostly unaware of the existence of this thing some refer to as fate or karma, we call it something else, is teaching the kids to trust it.

we are a disney~type family. we are strong supporters &
have used d~values as parents. our kids grew up with
going to the parks & their hallmark pictures in disney
clothing.

i wish those postings their observations/experiences
are wrong. i am concern that dvc has no self regulators
& the wrong doings/torts are going to continue until
it get so far out of hand, that it explodes. much liked
the abuse of the real handicapped persons. saddens
me.

dean seem to make the most insightful / neutral input.
unfor., i don't think dvc has anyone in their "power
positions" that are just as capable/or willing. i remember,
when i first expressed my observations/concerns, he
stated that dvc isn't for us. but you see, by that time
we wasn't within the grace period..which is bull! we
brought 3 blt contacts...& hadn't use it , even though
the past 10 days. as soon as they/dvc failed in their
primary obligation then we should have had that option.

we will walk every revs. we make. that first experience \we
had, surprised senior mangers & left a lasting impression.
i think anyone attempting here to discourage this, is
doing so for their own benefit.

if dvc reading this, make it possible for owners bring their
concerns--- where i like to be my 4 years worth of documentation!
hint, covering up/denial are ineffective problem solving because
the problems will continue until something worst happens.

Most of your apparent concerns are documented in the POS you received when you purchased. Members at all DVC Resorts absolutely have the ability to replace DVC if they feel the policies are not being followed or fairly implemented. Members at each resort have the option to select their own management company or fill that role themselves if desired.

Your 4 years worth of documentation may be sent to:

DVCmembersatisfactionteam@disneyvacationclub.com .

I'm confident they will act accordingly regarding your concerns.
